Xtrfy MZ1 & M42 Wireless: Esports gaming mice now also wireless

The gaming mice from Xtrfy are supposed to meet even the highest gamer demands. The rodents have always relied on a holey look to keep the weight as low as possible. The M4 RGB’s exciting feature set even earned it the Platinum Award in our test. Now, thanks to the Xtrfy MZ1 & M42 Wireless, the mice lose their cable and get a new sensor.

Xtrfy MZ1 & M42 Wireless: Without cable, but with new sensor

The MZ1 and M42 from Xtrfy have already been around for over a year, but only as a wired version. With the Xtrfy MZ1 & M42 Wireless, both models are now also available wirelessly. They are still ultra-light and only weigh 61 grams in the case of the MZ1 and 67 grams in the case of the M42.

Both new editions are now equipped with the PixArts PAW-3370 sensor, which replaces the older PixArts PMW-3389 model. On the one hand, it has a slightly higher resolution of up to 19,000 CPI, but on the other hand, it is much more energy-efficient in wireless operation.

Thus, both gaming mice are supposed to be able to last for around 75 hours. However, that’s only when you turn off the fancy 1-zone RGB lighting and lower the USB sample rate. Still, an excellent value.

Symmetrical shape with six buttons

In purely visual terms, the Xtrfy MZ1 & M42 Wireless hardly differ from each other. Both rely on a symmetrical design and offer a total of six buttons: four on the top and two on the left side. The main keys are Kailh GM 8.0 switches, which are rated at 80 million kicks.

However, there are also differences in size. The MZ1 Wireless turns out a bit smaller at 111 mm x 53 mm x 37 mm (length x width x height) than the M42 Wireless, which brings it to dimensions of 118 mm x 63 mm x 38 mm.

The rest of the technology, such as 490 m/s² acceleration, a polling rate of 1,000 Hz and the customizable RGB lighting and honeycomb optics are shared by both mice. In addition, the weight distribution can be adjusted in the Xtrfy MZ1 & M42 Wireless. In the case of the MZ1, however, also the shape: The bottom of the mouse’s back can be removed to adjust the shape for different grip styles.

Both models are offered in black or white color schemes, while the top cover can also be customized in color if desired. Additional choices include blue, pink, gray, purple, red, green and brown. Main buttons and sides can also be customized with “Lizard Skins” if desired, which give the mice additional texture.

Prices and Availability

The Xtrfy MZ1 & M42 Wireless can be pre-ordered now from the manufacturer’s online store and are scheduled to start shipping in May 2022 (M42) and June 2022 (MZ1). Get started with the M42 starting at 99.00 euros, while the MZ1 starts at 119.00 euros.
