COSORI TwinFry Test: Design and workmanship
First and foremost, a hot air fryer should conjure up delicious chips, baked vegetables and grilled chicken. But if the piece of kitchen technology also looks good, nobody will have anything against it. This applies all the more to XXL models such as the COSORI TwinFry. With its weight of almost 9 kg and dimensions of 51.7 x 33.3 x 31.2 cm, it is quite large and can be quite difficult to hide, at least in smaller kitchens.
But you don’t have to hide the COSORI at all. I really like the gray matt finish in combination with the curved shapes. The hot air fryer fits perfectly into my kitchen. On the front, you can see the company logo in a shiny metal look as well as a wide handle, which is used to pull out and push in the cooking compartment. At the top is the display and control unit, which uses touch controls.
This not only controls well, but also feels really high-quality. However, the large glossy surface has a decisive disadvantage. It doesn’t take long for it to become covered in fingerprints. As the little helper is located in the kitchen, not only your fingers, but also olive oil, butter, tomato sauce and so on are likely to leave their mark. This is all the more noticeable as the matt gray housing is in stark contrast to the glossy top.
COSORI equips the 10-liter baking compartment with two shelves and an optional partition. So you have the choice between 2x 5 liters or 1x 10 liters. At the back is the power cable, which I think is a little short, and a practical cable hanger. All in all, I really like the look. The build quality also leaves nothing to be desired and is of a very high standard.
COSORI TwinFry test: Master of flexibility
The well-stocked hot air fryer market now offers a wide range of sizes. Both one-person households and entire families will find what they are looking for. But sometimes an XXL deep fryer is simply too big. That’s probably what the clever minds behind the COSORI TwinFry thought when they designed their DualBlaze system.
The 10-liter frying basket can not only be used as a large, uniform cooking chamber to prepare a whole roast pork or grilled chicken, for example. The partition wall can also be used to divide the air fryer into two smaller 5-liter cooking compartments. There are a total of four heating elements in the appliance itself – two per cooking chamber.
The heating pairs can be tempered independently of each other. This not only makes it possible to use just one cooking space. You can also prepare different dishes at the same time. While baked potatoes are crisping away in one cooking chamber, chicken thighs can be roasted in the second. A major highlight: the COSORI TwinFry uses the Sync Finish feature.
This ensures that the dishes are ready at the same time in both cooking zones. Not only the usability of only one cooking space, but also the independent temperature control of the two areas provide a lot of flexibility in everyday life. What’s more, a wide variety of dishes can be prepared in this way. The right app is used for this.
COSORI TwinFry test: VeSync app
Setting up the COSORI is quick and easy. Before you insert the two shelves and the partition wall for the first time, you should rinse everything briefly in the sink. Now you can insert them and plug the appliance into a suitable socket. The only thing that really bothered me was the rather short power cable. If you don’t have a socket nearby, you’ll need an extension cable.
Once the earthed plug is plugged into the socket, you’re ready to go. However, to get the most out of your air fryer, you should first take out your smartphone and download the VeSync app. This connects the air fryer to your home network. This allows you to monitor the COSORI at all times – even when you’re on the move.
For example, if you want to cook your Christmas roast with the TwinFry, you can always check how it’s coming along on your Christmas walk. And that’s not all. The app not only allows you to monitor the fryer, but also to control it. All cooking settings can be made conveniently via smartphone.
COSORI TwinFry test: everything is possible
The app not only allows you to control and monitor the kitchen assistant. The VeSync app also offers recipe ideas for the COSORI TwinFry. And there are plenty of them. After all, the hot air fryer is not only suitable for fries and croquettes. In fact, it can be used like a miniature oven.
From rolls and bread to cakes, pizza and a whole grilled chicken, there are virtually no limits to your imagination. If you don’t want to improvise, you’ll find the right inspiration in the recipe library. Thanks to the individual step-by-step instructions, even those who don’t like to cook can achieve delicious success.
COSORI TwinFry test: We wield the cooking spoon
In the practical test, I decided on baked potatoes with chicken legs. After seasoning everything according to the recipe, I placed the potatoes in one chamber and the chicken in the other. Now set the temperature and you’re ready to go.
Thanks to SyncFinish, both components were ready at the same time. The end result was impressive. The potatoes were golden brown and the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The cooking is followed by cleaning.
And this is also quick and easy. This is because almost all parts are dishwasher-safe. The large cooking compartment and the two shelves can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher. COSORI only recommends washing the dividing wall by hand.
