Acer ebii: AI-controlled e-bike with high riding comfort unveiled

The manufacturer not only presented new PCs, notebooks and monitors at the next@acer event. The smart Acer ebii e-bike, which was already officially presented on March 21, also celebrated its premiere. Thanks to AI functions, the model is supposed to work particularly smart while scoring high in terms of ride comfort in the city.

Acer ebii: info and details on the smart e-bike

Manufacturer Acer is not necessarily associated with e-bikes, and yet that is exactly what they presented with the Acer ebii. The electric bike wants to provide driving fun in the city with an AI-controlled motor and an intelligent vehicle control box.

In terms of design, Acer builds on the world’s leading modular e-bike architecture and creates an aluminum alloy frame that is both sturdy and lightweight. Weighing just 16 kg, the ebii relies on a minimalist look with clean lines and a matte white finish.

The airless, puncture-proof tires are made from recyclable materials and are said to offer maximum safety even at high speeds. The battery and control module are housed together in an intelligent vehicle control box called the ebii box.

This is connected to the front wheel by means of a single-arm cable, which is intended to improve ride comfort in the city. The ebii is powered by a highly efficient 250 W hub motor with 40 Nm of torque, which provides pedaling assistance of up to 25 km/h. With the drive you also have the choice and can configure this, depending on your preference, via the front or rear hub or use it as a mid-motor.

Smart control via smartphone and app

The Acer ebii is connected to the smartphone via Blueooth and also securely records this on a bracket on the handlebars, for example, to add route guidance while riding or to keep an eye on battery life and speed.

Various functions can also be controlled in the ebiiGO app, such as locking and unlocking. You can also select your preferred driving mode here: Eco mode saves energy, My ebii mode automatically balances power and energy consumption, while Boost mode adjusts speed and engine power to road conditions and distance to destination.

The ebiiGO app also displays real-time data and stores it for future optimization. With the help of the ebiiAssist smart assist technology, the e-bike autonomously remembers riding habits and thus aims to continuously improve the riding experience.

Up to 110 km range

The battery of the Acer ebii is removable and can be conveniently charged at home. It realizes a range of up to 110 kilometers and is fully charged in two and a half hours.

The battery life is extended with the help of an AI-optimized energy distribution. The battery module can also be used to charge other mobile devices. The charge status and remaining range can be checked in the ebiiGO app or via the LED display on the handlebars.

Safety first

The Acer ebii also comes with modern safety features. The ebii’s front and rear lights illuminate automatically in the dark. Lights in the front, rear and sides provide additional safety at night.

There is also a radar sensor under the seat that warns of oncoming vehicles or other objects in the immediate vicinity, effectively preventing collisions. In addition, there are functions such as accident detection or notifications about the condition of the e-bike.

ebii has an anti-theft feature and automatically sends an instant alert to the owner’s smartphone if someone tries to move the e-bike. GPS location tracking helps to quickly find the bike again. If the smartphone, which is connected via Bluetooth, moves out of range, the smart e-bike locks itself fully automatically and thus wants to leave bike thieves no chance.

Price and availability

The starting signal for the smart e-bike Acer ebii unfortunately no longer falls quite at the start of the cycling season. It should be available in stores from September 2023 at a recommended retail price starting at 1,999 euros.
