A tablet for the whole family? That is what Acer promises with its new Acer Iconia Tab P10. The PC expert does not want to score with flagship performance, but rather launch an affordable piece of multimedia technology. A long battery life paired with a high-resolution display should make streaming movies and series a pleasure.
Acer Iconia Tab P10 focuses on home entertainment
Do you use a tablet primarily to watch movies and series and surf the World Wide Web from time to time? Then the Acer Iconia Tab P10 should be a perfect fit for you. The newly announced tablet from Acer comes with a 10.4-inch display and offers a 2K resolution with 2,000 x 1,200 pixels.
The manufacturer relies on a pleasingly light chassis, which should only weigh 440 grams due to the use of an aluminum alloy. Under the hood is a Kompanio 500 octa-core processor from Mediatek. It is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Of course, these are not top rates. However, this tablet obviously does not want to play in the flagship class.
Instead, it focuses on a good display and an enduring battery. The latter is supposed to come along with a capacity of 6,000 mAh. According to Acer, it should last up to 10.5 hours when playing videos. The inexpensive family tablet is also equipped for taking snapshots in between. Thus, there is an 8 MP camera on the back that is supposed to offer autofocus. A 5 MP camera at the front also enables video calls.
The Acer Iconia Tab P10 also wants to earn the label as a “family tablet” with its special Family Link app. Here, children should not only find age-appropriate content, but also be able to use learning applications on top of that. Mom and dad can then add corresponding content and restrict or expand the children’s permissions on the tablet via the associated parent menu. Thus, not only apps can be shared, but also screen times can be set.
