Acer introduces Predator X32FP and CG48
Acer has introduced two new high-performance gaming monitors in the Predator series: the X32FP and CG48 models. The CG48 relies on an OLED panel, while the X32FP uses a mini-LED display.
Acer Predator X32FP
Acer boasts the Predator X32FP will kick off the latest developments in gaming. In a press release, it says that not replacing the gaming monitor regularly would be a mistake – after all, it would mean missing out on the latest revolutions. Acer understands its X32FP as such. Equipped with a mini-LED display, it is supposed to achieve enormous contrast rates. A VESA HDR-1000 certification proves that. The display is composed of 576 LED zones that are individually illuminated. Furthermore, it offers a UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels with a screen diagonal of 31.5 inches. In addition, there is a refresh rate of up to 160 Hz, FreeSync Premium Pro support, and a response time of 0.7 ms. All this is supposed to ensure that the pictures are not only razor-sharp, but also smoothly rendered at all times. There should not be any visible delays even during enormous action on the screen.
An anti-reflective display, two integrated seven-watt speakers, four HDMI 2.1 inputs, a display port, a USB Type-C input with a charging power of 90 watts, as well as an audio output and a USB hub, which consists of four USB 3.0 and one USB B port, round out the features.
Acer Predator CG48
The CG48 is significantly larger than the X32FP: diagonally, it measures a full 48 inches. With this enormous size and its 4K resolution, it primarily invites you to play games or watch movies in larger groups. It also scores with a refresh rate of 138 Hz, a contrast ratio of 135,000:1, and HDR10. The FreeSync Premium Pro technology is also supported here; the response time is supposed to be 0.1 ms. The monitor covers the DCI-P3 color space by 98 percent and can display true blacks by switching off individual pixels. Acer does without a backlight, which makes the device energy-efficient. The CG48 is also equipped with one DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.1 and four USB 3.2 ports. In addition, there is a USB-C port with an output power of 65 watts.
Pricing and availability
The X32FP, which was first unveiled a few days ago, is available now at a price of 1,599 euros ahead. The CG48 is scheduled to become available in the second quarter. A price of 1,599 euros is also planned for it.
