Philips 34B1U5600CH, 24B1U5301H and 27B1U5601H: New office monitors

With the Philips 34B1U5600CH, 24B1U5301H and 27B1U5601H, the manufacturer has introduced three new office monitors that are offered in three display sizes and come with practical features such as a KVM switch, USB-C docking and integrated webcam. They add additional variants to the 5000 series following the 34E1C5600HE unveiled in June.

Specifically for office use, Philips has unveiled three new 5000 Series monitors, packed with practical features and offered in 24-inch, 27-inch and 34-inch sizes. All models feature a high contrast ratio and convincing color space coverage of up to 120 percent of the sRGB color space and are therefore said to be suitable for professional image and video editing.

The 24B1U5301H and 27B1U5601H models rely on a flat IPS panel with W-LED backlighting and a refresh rate of 75 Hz. The 24B1 resolves in Full HD with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, while the 27-inch 27B1U5601H offers the higher resolution with QHD and 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.

In contrast, the larger Philips 34B1U5600CH with a screen diagonal of 34 inches is completely different. It comes with a curved display and offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It also relies on a UWQHD resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels and is equipped with a VA panel including W-LED backlighting, which gives it a better contrast ratio and richer colors.

Smart features

Smart features are inherent in all three new Philips monitors. Among them USB-C docking, which enables fast data exchange via USB 3.2 using a single cable and also allows network connection via RJ-45 to USB-C. In addition, mobile devices like notebooks or smartphones can be conveniently charged directly on the monitor with up to 100 watts thanks to USB PowerDelivery 3.0.

In addition, the three models Philips 34B1U5600CH, 24B1U5301H and 27B1U5601H have a KVM switch, thanks to which connected peripherals such as mouse and keyboard can be used between several PCs or notebooks.

MultiView also allows simultaneous operation of multiple devices, while the three displays also feature a 5-megapixel webcam that also allows login via Windows Hello facial recognition. Two 5-watt speakers and a noise-canceling microphone are also integrated into the monitors.

Philips also builds in a PowerSensor that – depending on the model – can save up to 80 percent on energy costs by determining if you’re currently in front of the display. If you move away from the monitor, the display is automatically dimmed, which saves energy costs.

Connections and ergonomics

A DisplayPort output also allows multiple monitors to be connected via just a single cable. Also offered on all three models is a USB hub with USB 3.2, Gen 2 / 10 Gbps, USB-C upstream x 1 (Data), USB-A downstream x 4 and USB-C downstream x 1.

All three models also have an ergonomic stand and are height-adjustable, tiltable and can be swiveled. The two smaller flat display variants also offer a pivot function to rotate the monitor 90 degrees vertically.

Prices and availability

The three new Philips monitors are expected to make their way into stores before the end of October 2022. Starting at an MSRP of $439 for the 24B1U5301H, $549 for the 27B1U5601H and $759 for the Philips 34B1U5600CH.
