Acer Nitro 14: Gaming notebook with AMD Ryzen 8040 processors presented

With the Acer Nitro 14, the manufacturer has presented a new gaming notebook that relies on AMD Ryzen 8040 processors and is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 at the top end. It has a 14.5-inch display with QHD resolution and is therefore more compact than the Nitro 16 and Nitro 17.

The Acer Nitro 14 in detail

The new Acer Nitro 14 (AN14-41) is intended to combine a slim design with powerful hardware. To achieve this, the manufacturer has installed an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor with Ryzen AI, which has eight cores and clock speeds of up to 5.1 GHz.

It is supported by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 with 8 GB GDDR6 graphics memory. However, Acer does not provide any details about the TGP or the configuration of the RAM and system memory.

The display of the Acer Nitro 14 has a 14.5-inch screen diagonal and a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The sRGB color space should be covered 100 percent.

A dual fan system with vortex flow is designed to ensure effective cooling of the components. The use of liquid metal thermal paste on the CPU also dissipates heat quickly and ensures consistently high performance.

The gaming notebook has USB 4 ports, USB 3.2 Type C, two USB Type A ports (one with offline charging function), HDMI 2.1 and a microSD card reader, as well as a 3.5 mm jack connection. DTS:X Ultra Audio is supported, while Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0 promises convincing sound thanks to three beamforming microphones. The webcam also relies on AI called Acer PurifiedView to optimize streams, according to the manufacturer.

Price and availability

The Acer Nitro 14 (AN14-41) will be available from June 2024 and starts at a very reasonable price. It starts at a recommended retail price of 1,399 euros.
