Acer Swift X 16: High-quality notebook for creatives with 3.2K OLED display
Manufacturer Acer really let it rip at its own next@acer event and unveiled several new products. Among them are gaming PCs and notebooks, monitors, a smart e-bike and much more. The Acer Swift X 16 is aimed at creative professionals and equips the Creator notebook with high-end components and a high-resolution 3.2K OLED display.

The Acer Swift X 16 (SFX16-61G) has a 40.6 cm (16 inch) OLED panel with 3.2K resolution (3200 x 2000), which wants to score with strong colors and rich contrasts. It offers a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certification, covers the DCI-P3 color space to a full 100 percent and comes up with a refresh rate of 120 hertz – typical for OLEDs, the response time is a particularly low 0.2 ms.
However, since creative work not only requires a bright, high-resolution and color-accurate display, but also potent hardware, Acer has not skimped here either.
AMD Ryzen 9 and RTX 4050
Thus, combining an AMD Ryzen 9 7940H processor with the internal AMD Radeon 780M graphics solution and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU, which brings ray tracing as well as AI and latest-generation AV1 video encoding hardware.
“With the help of access to NVIDIA Studio drivers and exclusive tools such as NVIDIA Omniverse, NVIDIA Broadcast and NVIDIA Canvas, users can optimize and accelerate their projects with support for some of the world’s most popular creative applications,” Acer adds.
The composite is backed by up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory and up to twoTB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. A microSD card reader is offered – unfortunately, a full-size card reader is omitted.
In addition, there are two USB4 Type-C ports, HDMI 2.1 and Wi-Fi 6E, so there is hardly anything left to be desired in terms of connectivity. Windows 11 is included as the operating system, and Windows Hello enables logging in via fingerprint sensor.
Acer claims to have additionally optimized the innards and achieved a better balance between cooling and battery runtime. The TwinAir cooling increases the air supply by up to 36% via the larger fans and the new Turbo mode. The heat is additionally dissipated through the keyboard’s air intake.
For videoconferencing, the Acer Swift X 16 is equipped with a high-resolution 1080p Full HD camera that supports the Acer PurifiedView suite of AI features such as background blur, automatic framing and eye contact technology. Acer PurifiedVoice with AI noise reduction is also said to ensure clear and crisp voice transmission at all times.
Price and Availability
The Acer Swift X 16 (SFX16-61G) creator notebook is expected to make its way to retailers in July 2023. It will start at a recommended retail price of 1,599 Euros.
