Acer TravelMate P4 and P4 Spin: New editions of the business notebooks with more performance

The two business notebooks Acer TravelMate P4 and P4 Spin were first updated in August and September 2022, respectively. Now, the next refresh is already on the cards, which is supposed to give the laptops more performance and new comfort features, among other things.

Acer updates its business laptops to the 13th generation Intel Core processors, which can now even be optionally equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050. This is hardly enough for current games, but should offer an enormous advantage over the installed iGPU in graphics-intensive applications.

Acer’s TravelMate P4 and P4 Spin have a 14-inch panel with a resolution of 2,240 x 1,400 pixels and a 16:10 format. In the case of the Spin P4 14 (TMP414RN-53), it is of course a 2-in-1 convertible that offers a hardened touchscreen and can be operated via pen, for example. Especially here, the combination with a dedicated, albeit not brand-new, GPU should be quite exciting for creatives.

Wi-Fi 6E is standard on all new models. In addition, the notebooks allow a mobile Internet connection via LTE, so they unfortunately do without a 5G module.

Features and ports

One innovation marks the so-called Acer Light Sensing technology. This is supposed to detect the brightness and color temperature in the environment by means of a sensor and thus adjust the display accordingly. Thus, the best possible picture should always be achieved both outdoors in strong sunlight and indoors in poor light.

In terms of ports, the Acer TravelMate P4 and P4 Spin are also very well positioned. There are USB-A ports on both sides, an RJ45 LAN port is also offered, as well as two times Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI.

Prices and availability

The new Acer TravelMate P4 and P4 Spin notebooks are expected to make their way to retailers in June 2023. The Acer TravelMate P4 14 (TMP414-53) starts at an MSRP of 1,199 euros, while the TravelMate Spin P4 (TMP414RN-53) convertible notebook comes in at 1,249 euros. Above that, the larger Acer TravelMate P4 16 (TMP416-52), equipped with a 16-inch display, positions itself starting at a recommended retail price of 1,299 Euros (RRP).
