When it comes to fans and cooling, Asus certainly seems to have put a lot of thought into its latest mini PC. Thus, the PC expert completely dispenses with a fan in the Asus Mini PC PL64. According to the manufacturer, this not only results in almost silent operation. On top of that, dust is prevented from entering the case, which is supposed to ensure longevity. However, Asus relies on a special cooling system to prevent overheating during high load. This is supposed to ensure an efficient heat dissipation. Asus even talks about being able to use the mini-PC at extreme temperatures like 50 ° C.

Asus highlights from CES 2023:

Support for up to three 4K monitors for multitasking enthusiasts

As befits a mini PC, this one also comes in compact dimensions. According to the manufacturer, you can even install the 199.7 x 119.7 x 33.9 mm Asus Mini PC PL64 in extremely narrow rooms. There are versatile mounting options.

VESA support makes it possible to install it on the back of the monitor, for example. Thanks to the metal case, not only a chic look is provided for. The inner values also seem to be right. For example, the mini-PC can be equipped with Intel Iris Xe graphics (for i5 or i7) or Intel UHD graphics (for i3 or Celeron).

As a result, the small PC should be capable of 4K resolution at 60 Hz. Those who like to multitask with multiple screens will be happy to know that up to three 4K displays can be connected via the HDMI ports. Of course, the rest of the ports are at least as important as the monitor capability. And this is where the Asus Mini-PC PL64 also seems to score. Besides two LAN ports, it even offers two COM ports.

These are supposed to make the compact PC fit for devices such as barcode scanners, which means it can also be used in the checkout area without any problems. The wireless equipment is also right. Thus, WiFi 6E is used here, which is supposed to provide stable and fast wireless connections to the network.

Prices and availability

The Asus Mini PC PL64 offers a lot of options in the configurator. In the basic version, the compact computer comes with Intel Celeron 7305 and 2×2 Intel Wi-Fi 6. RAM and hard drive or SSD are missing here, but it only costs 359.90 Euros.
