BenQ Zowie XL2746K: New esport monitor with 240 Hz presented

With the newly introduced XL2746K, the Taiwanese manufacturer BenQ targets competitive gamers and esport professionals. The new gaming monitor comes with a 240 Hz TN panel and should also convince owners of the current consoles around PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X thanks to VRR support (“Variable Refresh Rate”).

The technology of the BenQ XL2746K

The BenQ XL2746K features a 27-inch TN panel with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). Especially the high refresh rate of 240 Hz should appeal to gamers – assuming potent hardware.

The manufacturer does not provide any concrete information about the response time. However, it can be assumed that this should be around 1 ms (gray to gray), as is usually the case with TN panels. With a contrast of 1000:1 and a brightness of 320 cd/m², the Esport monitor is well positioned.

Three HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.2, a USB service port and a headphone output are available. Other features of the BenQ Zowie XL2746K, which weighs around 8.8 kg, include pivot, VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), blue light filter and flicker-free backlight.

Exciting Features for PS5 and Xbox Series X

BenQ has also thought of console gamers with the XL2746K. A refresh rate of 120 Hz is achieved on the consoles, VRR (“Variable Refresh Rate”) is included as an anti-tearing measure.

Alternatively, a mode against motion picture blur (DyAc+) is available, but then the flicker-free backlight has to be waived. The power consumption of under 40 watts is also impressive.

Price and availability

It is not yet known when and at what price the BenQ Zowie XL2746K will be available in stores. At least a privacy screen and a round remote control called “S Switch” are included, which can be used to conveniently adjust various settings.
