Among other announcements, Razer presented the Kishi Universal Mobile Gaming Controller at CES 2020 in Las Vegas. With this, Razer wants to position itself for the future of cloud and mobile gaming. The controller is compatible with iOS and Android smartphones and Razer’s own Sila 5G home router from Razer.
The principle of the Kishi Universal Mobile Gaming Controller is similar to the Razer Junglecat. To ensure maximum compatibility with a wide range of devices – and not only for Razer-Phone-2 owners – Razer has developed a universal version in partnership with Gamevice, which can be used with a wide range of smartphones. The controller has clickable analog thumbsticks on both sides and thus offers the full range of a conventional console controller.
For real players a low input lag is especially important. According to its own statements, Razer achieves an “ultra low” native latency with the Kishi Universal Mobile Gaming Controller through a hidden UBS-C or Apple Lightning connection. This also enables support for cloud gaming as with Geforce Now. While playing, the Kishi controller can also be charged by the smartphone. Razer promises with the controller a wide range of Android and iOS games compatible with mobile controllers.

At the same time as introducing the Kishi controller, Razer announced a stronger collaboration with the cloud game streaming service Geforce Now. Jason Schwartz, Razer’s head of mobile gaming, said during CES that the company’s mobile controllers are predestined for Geforce Now.
The Razer Kishi Universal Mobile Gaming Controller for Android and iOS should be available in spring 2020.
