If you own one of Razer’s high-end peripherals, you’ve probably already enjoyed the pretty color effects of Chroma RGB. Now, the US company wants to make the largest lighting ecosystem for gaming devices shine outside of your gaming setup. A new program that can be controlled in a unified way is supposed to make sure of that.
Easier control of RGB lighting
Whether gaming mouse, gaming keyboard or gaming headset. Razer Chroma RGB lets pretty much every product of the US-Americans light up in radiant colors. Now the whole thing is optionally extended to the rest of the home. The new Razer Smart Home application is supposed to make this possible. In a way, it serves as a control center to let all Chroma-compatible devices shine in pretty colors even remotely. The app that is supposed to make it possible is called “Razer Smart Home App”. According to Razer, this should not only result in a higher operating comfort. The gaming experts also promise a simplified setup of all Chroma devices. Razer obviously wants to meet the wishes of its customers. Alvin Cheung, Senior Video President of Razer’s Hardware Business Unit said:
“Razer Chroma RGB has been a fan favorite since its launch, and today Razer is bringing together technology and functionality in the Razer Smart Home app so users have complete creative control over their environment.”
Razer Open Invite integrates other device manufacturers
While the introduction of the dedicated Razer Chrome RGB app has to be considered long overdue, another move by the manufacturer seems like a true revolution. The program called “Razer Open Invite” represents, as the name suggests, an extensive invitation to all other hardware manufacturers. Thus, it should be possible to add products from other manufacturers to the Chroma RGB system at home in the future. This is already the case in the gaming sector. Thus, Razer can proudly announce that devices from more than 50 partners are already supported.
Expansion beyond PC desktop
But it is by no means only Razer itself that benefits from the expansion of the exclusive ecosystem. Quite the opposite. Opening up the Razer ecosystem opens up a wide variety of opportunities for many companies. After all, according to Razer, it allows them to become part of the largest lighting ecosystem for gaming devices. This means they don’t have to worry about a control option for their own RGB lighting. By integrating with Razer Chroma RGB, it’s all easily done via smartphone.
Comprehensive affiliate program
Already, the list of Razer partners reads quite impressive. In addition to Nanoleaf and Yeelight, the US company can also boast the energy drink manufacturer Monster. According to Razer, the already rich list will be expanded soon. Razer’s Chroma RGB Smart Home program is supposed to be launched in the first half of 2022. The possibilities that the manufacturer opens up for gaming peripherals, both for itself and for other companies, seem truly limitless. We are excited!
