CES 2023: Gigabyte Aero 16 gets new CPU and GPU

The technology world is currently looking to Las Vegas. In the Nevada desert, all the big names in the industry are presenting their upcoming entertainment electronics highlights. Of course, Gigabyte is also part of the party. With the Gigabyte Aero 16, the PC and notebook expert is launching an ultra-light notebook that is supposed to offer plenty of performance despite its low weight.

Gigabyte Aero 16 with old looks and new technology

Connoisseurs of last year’s Gigabyte Aero 16 will also find the newcomer familiar. This is simply because the manufacturer keeps the design. This is not surprising in view of last year’s optical all-round renewal. This means that we again get a pleasingly thin aluminum chassis with a diameter of just 1.8 cm. Gigabyte’s cobblers also stick to their last when it comes to the display. Thus, the Gigabyte Aero 16 from 2023 also comes with a high-resolution, high-contrast and colorful 4K+ OLED. The display wants to convince especially creative users with its color fidelity.

In order to get the most out of the screen, Gigabyte has calibrated it in advance. The result is a particularly low Delta-E value and a DCI-P3 color space coverage of 100 percent. Low-Blue-Light, Flicker-Free technology and EyeSafe are also used to protect the eyes during longer work sessions. Under the hood, a lot seems to have been done. Intel’s Raptor Lake Core i9-13900H is the core. The GeForce RTX 4070 from Nvidia is supposed to provide graphics power. This definitely makes the notebook interesting for gamers as well.

Gigabyte Aero 14 is waiting in the wings

In terms of connectivity, the mix of multimedia, gaming and work notebook shows itself rather bold. Besides a microSD card reader, you only get USB-C here. This is just as reminiscent of the Apple MacBook as the elegant touchpad with glass. Since we already know the lack of ports from the predecessor, we can assume that Gigabyte knows what it is doing here.

By the way, besides the Gigabyte Aero 16, a more compact version with 14 inches is supposed to follow in the near future, which comes in a very similar design. It is supposed to offer an OLED panel with 2.8K and a slightly weaker CPU and GPU. An Intel Core i7-13700H is at work in the top configuration, alternatively the somewhat weaker Core i5-12500H. A GeForce 4050 guarantees graphics performance.

Prices and availability unknown

The manufacturer has not yet announced when and at which prices Gigabyte Aero 16 and 14 will be available. We will certainly have clarity in this regard soon.
