Dell XPS 15 (7590): 4k OLED and State-Of-The-Art Hardware

Dell updates the XPS 15 with a new webcam position, Coffee Lake Refresh and GeForce GTX 1650, as well as the ability to add a touchable 4K OLED display. The duration should be up to 20 hours.

4K OLED display with touch function

At Computex 2019, Dell will present a new version of the XPS 15 (7590). The model is now also available with 4K OLED display and touch function. However, the option of a conventional LC display with 4K or Full HD resolution remains.

Configurations with Core i9 CPU and Nvidia Geforce GTX CPU

A large number of configuration options are also new: Dell now offers ninth generation Intel Core processors (Coffee Lake-H Refresh). Choose from Core i5-9300H (4C/8T, up to 4.1 GHz Turbo), i7-9750H (6C/12T, up to 4.5 GHz Turbo) and i9-9980HK (8C/16T, up to 5.0 GHz Turbo). The new processors from 8 GB to 64 GB DDR4-RAM with 2.666 MHz clock rate are supported. In addition to the integrated Intel UHD 630, there is the option of an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 with 4 GB GDDR5 memory as a dedicated graphics card. An SSD connected via PCIe, which is available in sizes of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1,024 GB or 2,048 GB, also accommodates large amounts of data.

New webcam position

A nuisance in earlier models for some users was the camera placed below the screen, which was also mockingly called “nose camera” due to its unfavourable angle. Dell has now fixed this problem in the XPS 15 (7590). The camera has a diameter of only 2.25 millimeters and can therefore be placed above the screen again without widening the frame.

Many connections and 20 hours running time

A Thunderbolt 3 port, which is connected to four PCIe lanes, and two USB A 3.2 Gen 1 jacks are located on the sides of the case. Furthermore, the XPS 15 (7590) is equipped with HDMI 2.0 and an SD card reader.

Dell indicates up to 20.5 hours of battery life.

start from 999 US-Dollar

Which configurations will appear at which prices in Germany is still unknown. In the USA, the XPS 15 in basic configuration with i5-9300H, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD and Full HD starts at 999 US dollars.
