After the first-person drone DJI Avata, the manufacturer has now introduced two more models. The DJI Mavic 3E and 3T both come with an innovative thermal imaging camera and are said to realize a flight time of up to 45 minutes.
DJI Mavic 3E and 3T in detail
The two new models, the DJI Mavic 3E and 3T, expand the manufacturer’s Mavic-3 enterprise series and are aimed primarily at professional users with their special features.
They rely on the compact design of the Mavic 3, but from a technical perspective, they come up with some exciting innovations. The main difference between the 3E and 3T are the cameras.
For example, the Mavic 3E is equipped with a wide-angle camera with a 4/3 CMOS sensor, a 20-megapixel resolution and a mechanical shutter. This is joined by a telephoto camera with a focal length of 162mm (35mm equivalent). It resolves with 12 megapixels and has a 56x hybrid zoom.
The Mavic 3T is different. Its wide-angle camera comes with a focal length of 24 mm and a resolution of 48 megapixels, but without a mechanical shutter. The telephoto camera, on the other hand, is the same one used in the E3.
For this, the DJI Mavic 3T also offers a special thermal imaging camera with an equivalent focal length of 40 mm and a diagonal field of view of 61 degrees. While this only resolves at 640 x 512 pixels, it allows for point and area temperature measurements, temperature warnings, color palettes and isotherms.
The Mavic 3T’s thermal imaging and zoom cameras also support 14x continuous and simultaneous zoom for easy comparisons.
45 minutes of flight time
The DJI Mavic 3E and 3T also offer up to 45 minutes of flight time on a single battery charge. Interesting for the envisioned application in the enterprise segment, this allows an area of up to two square kilometers to be surveyed in just one flight.
The batteries can be rapidly recharged at the 100-watt charging station. But charging inside the drone is also fast at 88 watts. Without accessories, the two drones weigh 915 grams (3E) and 920 grams (3T), respectively, and when folded, without propellers, they fit in any pocket thanks to dimensions of 221 x 96.3 x 90.3 mm.
Both drones reach a maximum speed of 15 m/s and a maximum flight distance of 32 kilometers. Videos are recorded by the drones in H.264 format and in 4K UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) at up to 30 frames per second. The Mavic 3E offers a maximum data rate of 130 Mbps in 4K, while the 3T only gets 85 Mbps.

The new DJI RC Pro Enterprise controller is used for operation. The remote control has a bright screen with 1,000 nits of brightness, making it very easy to read even in direct sunlight. It also features a built-in microphone for clear communication and can be charged in just 1.5 hours with 65W fast charging.
Prices and Availability
Both the DJI Mavic 3E and DJI Mavic 3T drones are now available for pre-order directly from the manufacturer. In the process, the 3E starts as a “Worry-Free Basic Combo” from 3,640 euros. The Plus Combo of the E3, which additionally includes the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise RTK module and the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise battery set, is priced at 5,280 euros.
The DJI Mavic 3T, on the other hand, starts at an MSRP of €5,690. Here, the Worry-Free Plus combo with the same contents as in the case of the 3E comes in at an MSRP of 7,510 euros. More information and technical details can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
