Dyson Zone price: Hi-Fi headphones with air purifier launches for 950 US dollars

With the Zone, Dyson already introduced an unusual hi-fi headphone with ANC function in March 2022, which also attracts attention primarily due to its air purifier. In the meantime, it is approaching market maturity. Now the Dyson Zone price has also been set, which is quite high at $950.

Dyson Zone price: just under 950 US dollars for the headphones

At least within the US, Dyson’s hi-fi headphones will be available in March 2023. Exactly one year after the presentation, the unusual model thus strikes, when the launch in Germany, however, is currently still unclear. The Dyson Zone price is different, since it is 949 US dollars and will probably be converted one-to-one into euros.

The special feature of the hi-fi headphones is of course the integrated, but removable air purifier. It is simply plugged into the headphones and is supposed to filter out especially exhaust fumes in a city. The headphones are equipped with a 2-stage air purification system that is capable of filtering both exhaust fumes and pollutants from the air in cities. The visor continuously directs a stream of purified air to the nose and mouth without touching the face.

According to the manufacturer, however, this has a massive impact on battery life, which is a convincing 50 hours without the air purifier. With filtering, however, the runtime drops to just 4 hours. Charging takes a total of three hours via USB Type-C.

What’s in the Dyson Zone

Technically, the Zone makes a lot. Dyson promises a strong active noise cancellation (ANC), which is supposed to reduce ambient noise by 38 dB with the help of eleven built-in microphones. The microphones scan the environment 384,000 times per second.

The aim is also to achieve a hi-fi sound that covers a frequency band from 6 Hz to 21,000 Hz – so deep and rich basses are as good as a given. In addition, all components of the headphones should be particularly well matched to each other to minimize distortion.

At a volume of 94 dB and a pitch of 1 kHz, the 40-mm drivers are said to achieve a distortion of less than 0.08 percent. It connects to your smartphone or other devices wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.0 or with the help of a 3.5mm jack cable.

The Dyson Zone promises a high-quality sound that can be further customized with the help of a unique equalizer tuning. For making calls, the headphones rely on two built-in microphones that are supposed to enable clear voice reproduction.
