Elgato updates Stream Deck mobile app

Elgato, a subsidiary of CORSAIR, has announced an update to its Stream Deck mobile app. The app, originally designed to turn smartphones into a multi-functional interface for content creation, will now be made available for free for up to six keys. In addition, the update includes other modifications that allow users greater control over their favorite apps and customization of their setups.

New business model and additional features

Elgato is expanding access to the Stream Deck mobile app to a larger user base with the introduction of a “freemium” model. The free version of the app offers six buttons, unlimited actions and access to a variety of plugins for popular applications. For users who want advanced features, such as custom layouts, backgrounds and up to 64 buttons, Elgato offers an optional “Pro” subscription or one-time purchase.

Personalization and customization

The new update places a special emphasis on personalization. Users now have the ability to switch between a dark and light mode, control keyboard orientation, and discover community plugins and profiles on the Elgato Marketplace. With Stream Deck Mobile’s Pro subscription, users can customize the number and layout of keys and personalize the look of the app with custom front panels or images from their photo gallery.

Availability and Cost

The Stream Deck mobile app is available in the Apple App Store for iOS and iPadOS devices. Stream Deck Mobile’s Pro subscription can be purchased either monthly ($2.99), annually ($24.99), or through a one-time purchase ($49.99). Pricing may vary by region.
