FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable with Wi-Fi 7, TV tuner and Zigbee goes on sale

AVM has announced the market launch of the new cable router flagship FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable. After the router was presented last May, the top model with Wi-Fi 7, TV tuner and Zigbee integration is now available in stores.

AVM FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable launches

The AVM FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable is the latest all-in-one router for cable connections and supports DOCSIS 3.1 including channel bundling with 2×2 OFDM(A) and 32×8 SC-QAM. End devices can be connected via cable using a 2.5 GBit LAN connection and four additional LAN connections.

The new Wi-Fi 7 standard (802.11be) is used wirelessly. In combination with Wi-Fi 6 and the mesh network, this should provide advantages for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency bands. A throughput of up to 2,880 MBit/s is achieved in the 5 GHz band and a strong 720 MBit/s at 2.4 GHz.

The router also includes a complete telephone system (DECT, IP, analog) including five answering machines.

Smart home integration via Zigbee and Matter

Smart home devices can be integrated into the home network via the DECT base. In addition to DECT ULE, the Zigbee wireless standard is also on board, while the FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable is already prepared for the Matter standard.

This means that smart home devices can be integrated directly via the router, which serves as the control center for the networked home. But that’s not all, because the new top model also has an integrated TV tuner that is capable of DVB-C streaming. Streaming is therefore possible across the entire range of the Wi-Fi network.

The FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable also has typical functions such as comprehensive parental controls, a firewall, a media server for pictures, music and videos as well as Wi-Fi guest access.

The highlights of the FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable:

  • DOCSIS 3.1 router for Internet on the cable connection
  • Channel bundling with 2×2 OFDM(A) and 32×8 SC-QAM
