Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Is Coming To PC

Sony is bringing the next PlayStation blockbuster to the PC. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, the open-world game set in feudal Japan, will be released on Steam and in the Epic Game Store in May. We have summarized all the information about the game.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut PC version confirmed

Back in 2020, the open-world game Ghost of Tsushima for the PlayStation 4 became a real surprise hit. A year later, the Director’s Cut was released as an improved remake for the PlayStation 5. Now the title is following in the footsteps of games such as God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man and is making its way to PC.

Naturally, the PC version has been given numerous new features and adjustments. For example, the frame rate can be freely adjusted, the graphics options can be adjusted down to the last detail and the mouse and keyboard controls can be customized.

The port of Sucker Punch’s title also supports ultrawide monitors in 21:9 and 32:9 format, as well as 48:9 on three monitors simultaneously. NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3 are also on board as upscaling technologies, and frame generation is also offered.

Of course, the game can also be played with a controller. The PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller provides an even better gaming experience on the PC thanks to haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Sony has not yet revealed any details about the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut system requirements, but these are likely to be quite steep – as with Horizon Forbidden West, which will be released in a few days’ time.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut: What to expect

In Ghost of Tsushima, you play as Jin Sakai in the eponymous Tsushima. Jin, who was raised as a samurai, has to stand idly by and watch as an invasion of Mongols takes over his homeland. So of course it’s up to you to drive back the invaders and recapture the island.

You combine powerful katana battles with stealth elements and use unique skills and gadgets to defeat the Mongols. The game scores with a lively and beautiful game world that you can explore completely freely.

The Director’s Cut also adds additional content to Ghost of Tsushima:

Iki Island Expansion – In this story expansion, Jin discovers new locations, characters and enemies on a mysterious island. The island of Iki is a wild, lawless land full of looters and criminals. Jin will have to use all his skills to defeat his enemies and save Iki.

Legends – Inspired by Japanese folklore and mythology, this co-op multiplayer experience consists of two-player story missions and four-player wave-based survival combat, as well as the competitive Rivals mode, which pits two teams of two players against each other. Choose one of four unique classes: Samurai, Hunter, Rōnin or Assassin – and play with friends or via online matchmaking.

Kurosawa Mode – Experience the game in black and white with film grain effects, Japanese dialog and English subtitles. This mode was inspired by the films of legendary director Akira Kurosawa.

Those who pre-order Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut for PC can look forward to various bonuses. These include the horse in the new game, the traveler’s costume and the “Broken Armor” colors from Baku’s store. The game will be released on May 16, 2024 on Steam and in the Epic Games Store.
