At this year’s Computex, HP presented among other things its new Envy notebooks. Due to their real wood elements they are an absolute eye-catcher.
Technically the devices may not stand out from the competition – optically they definitely do. The absolute highlight of the new Envy notebooks is the palm rest made of real wood. HP is thus bidding farewell to aluminium, which is so popular in the industry, and is opting for a more rustic look. However, these experiments are not really new in the industry either: Asus once presented a laptop with bamboo elements, for example.
HP speaks of a particularly robust material that should also feel warm. Walnut and birch wood are used. The Envy series comprises several convertibles and laptops, the technical features of which HP has barely commented on so far. So far it is only known that Intel processors are used in the laptops, while AMD chips are also available in the convertibles. The size of the devices is also known: They will be sold in both 13″ and 17″ versions.
The colour versions “Black / Natural Walnut”, “Ceramic White / White Birch” and “Natural White / Pale Birch” are available. The devices will be delivered in autumn. The prices and further information about the technical equipment are not yet known.
