HyperX launches new USB microphone – SoloCast

With the new HyperX Solocast, an entry-level model has been added to the manufacturer’s series.

What can the SoloCast?

The SoloCast is a Plug-N-Play USB microphone and comes in addition to the previous series of HyperX microphones as an entry-level model. It is aimed at content creators and streamers. The recording capability is designed very simply with Plug-N-Play. A flashing LED indicates whether a recording is in progress or the microphone is currently muted. If the user wants to mute the microphone, a simple tap on the top of the microphone is enough. The connection to the respective device is simply done via the back of the microphone with the included USB cable. With its cardioid polar pattern, it has a clear sound during recording. The cardioid polar pattern is aligned with the sound sources directly in front of the microphone, making it ideal for use with streamers or in the home office.

The sensitivity of the microphone is -6dB (1V/Pa at 1kHz) and the audio signal level or noise is ≤-74dBFS (A-weighted) And this in a frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The SoloCast is space-saving. The stand of the SoloCast is rotatable and the tilt can be adjusted accordingly. With the included mounting adapter it can be mounted on the thread sizes 3/8″ or 5/8″. This allows it to be used on the most common stands and extension arms. This is also good, because neither a stand nor an arm are included in the delivery. Like the other models in the series, the microphone is compatible with PS4, Mac and PC. Of course, it also works on the usual streaming platforms. Whether Streamlabs OBS, XSplit or OBS Studio. A certification of Discord and TeamSpeak has the SoloCast also already.

Availability and price

The new HyperX SoloCast is available immediately at HyperX at a price of 74.99 Euro.
