With the Legend, IO HAWK has introduced an e-scooter that impresses with its remarkable features. For example, the e-scooter features recuperation, a maximum range of 70 km and a 500 watt motor. Thanks to unique suspension and other safety features, the scooter should even be able to be used off-road.
Offroad or city? You have the choice!
We know e-scooters more from everyday road traffic than from the terrain. But IO HAWK now wants to go a different way with its model Legend. In cooperation with the noble brand Kaabo, the scooter experts have developed a vehicle that is suitable for off-road as well as for the urban jungle. The scooter sets itself apart from the usual competition. This is not least due to the front and rear turn signals of the German company Kellermann. In addition, the scooter comes with an integrated tail light, which even has a brake light. The equipment is rounded off with an engine output of 500 watts and an 18.2 ampere-hour strong battery, which is to provide for 70 kilometers of driving fun. This makes the e-scooter a serious participant in road traffic.
Performance meets comfort
In view of the data sheet, it is almost difficult to speak here only of an e-scooter. After all, IO HAWK seems to want to offer a serious alternative to the already established means of transport. This already starts with the little things. For example, the company relies on high-quality material for its tires, which is by no means based on hard rubber, but is filled with air.
This means that driving over all conceivable surfaces and floor coverings is no problem. In combination with the powerful engine, serious obstacles are unlikely to encounter the legend. But not only the performance is convincing. IO HAWK also puts a lot of effort into comfort. The practical folding mechanism ensures that the Legend can be transported lying down without any problems. It is no problem to take it with you in the car, bus or train.
Safe through the urban jungle
When an e-scooter has so much power under the hood, the focus should also be on safety. IO HAWX does this without a doubt. The lighting of the e-scooter already speaks for this. Thus the scooter comes with a front light, which is to be able to shine in radiating 60 Lux. Optional are the turn signals from Kellermann. The company is known for producing the brightest legal turn signals in Europe. Other road users will probably not be overlooked so quickly on the Legend. A practical horn is also on board so that the driver can also be heard acoustically.
Take off into the field!
E-scooters are not exactly known for their off-road qualities. The reason for this is the generally weak spring characteristics of electric scooters. The Legend wants to do things differently here. Thanks to a revolutionary full-suspension, it should be possible to do jumps and other stunts without any problems. However, the practical front and rear suspension is not only of benefit to regular off-road riders.
In city traffic, the suspension should also provide an extremely comfortable driving experience. Cobblestones, curbs and potholes should not be a problem if IO HAWX keeps its promises. This also applies at high speeds. Since the manufacturer relies on a large tread surface for the feet, sufficient stability should also be provided.
A little bit electric car
The Legend should also be able to offer a feature with its recuperation that we only know from e-cars by default. As soon as you drive downhill, brake or simply let the scooter roll out, the battery charges. Should the battery run out of breath at some point, the driver should be warned of unpleasant surprises in advance. This is ensured by the voltage indicator on the scooter’s handlebars. Here you can always see the current battery status. In addition, the IO HAWK Legend comes with an ignition lock and two keys. So you can always switch off the scooter reliably and completely. A color display with practical USB port is also on board. This should also make mobile charging of the smartphone no problem.
Practical color display
On the display of the Legend you should be able to make detailed settings. For example, you can choose between three different speed modes. Besides 9 km/h and 14 km/h you can also choose for fast 20 km/h. Furthermore, you can readjust the recuperation and set the acceleration time of the e-scooter. The display should show the current speed and other information about the current ride when the scooter is switched on.
Special motor kit
Those who are not satisfied with an all-round e-scooter, but want to experience a genuine off-road feeling, should be able to use the special engine kit. This boosts the already powerful engine to an impressive 1,000 watts. The high-performance scooter becomes a visual highlight thanks to its illuminated tread. However, you should be aware that this is of course a model without road approval.

Thus one gets the version without indicators to one around 300 euro reduced UVP of 1099 euro. Who would like itself to secure the full equipment with indicators, pays instead of the regular UVP of 1599 euro at present still 1299 euro.
