Yoga S940: High-end laptop

It was not until the IFA that Lenovo announced that it would expand the yoga series again and produce premium laptops for the series in addition to convertibles. The first model of this new yoga series was the ultra-thin laptop “Yoga S730-13IWL”. With the “Yoga S940” the next step follows.

Among other things, the 13.9 inch panel, which in the standard version offers a Full HD resolution at a brightness of 400 candela per square meter, is supposed to convince. In addition, Lenovo announced that it had fundamentally changed not only the display quality, but also the way the displays were installed. The display edges are extremely narrow, the display case ratio is 90 percent according to the manufacturer, and the glass surface of the display is rounded on the sides in a similar way to smartphones.

The low case thickness of only 12.2 millimeters doesn’t come as a surprise in view of these facts. The weight of 1.2 kilograms is also correspondingly low. The laptop is powered by a Core i7 processor. Depending on the variant, there is also eight or 16 GB RAM and either 256 or 512 or 1,000 GB SSD memory.

The equipment is rounded off by Dolby Atmos loudspeakers radiating upwards, Alexa support and an infrared camera, which is supposed to give the device artificial intelligence. For example, it not only unlocks the device via “Windows Hello”, but also tracks the user’s eye movements and locks the device automatically when the user moves away. Alexa can be configured to respond only to the main user’s voice.

The device is to be launched in May and will cost 1,500 euros in its basic version. It will only be available in grey.

Yoga A940: All-in-One-PC

In addition to the high-end laptop already presented, Lenovo also presented a new all-in-one PC from the Yoga series. The device called “Yoga A940”, which is also suitable for professional use by graphic artists and designers, is supposed to convince with a large 4K display, among other things.

The IPS display measures 27 inches diagonally and can be controlled by touch. Of course, a keyboard is also available for operation. The display is also equipped with “Dolby Vision” and can be adjusted to the user’s wishes with regard to inclination thanks to a rotatable hinge.

The hardware configuration of the device will depend on the selected version. A maximum of Core i7 processor of the eighth generation, “AMD Radeon RX 560” and 32 GB RAM is possible. In addition, there is an up to 512 GB SSD and an up to 2 TB SATA hard disk.

The device has several USB ports, an HDMI output, an SD card slot, a headphone output and a LAN socket. It will also be possible to charge smartphones by placing them on the integrated mouse pad.

The All-in-One PC will be available from February for 3,000 euros.
