Together with the LG V40 ThinQ, the South Korean company also introduced the Smartwatch LG Watch W7, which will be available from the end of January. The first 1000 buyers of the new high-end smartphone will also receive Smartwatch free of charge. All other customers can purchase the watch from the end of January in Germany. The recommended retail price is 449 Euro.
The LG Watch W7 is a combination of a classic mechanical watch with analog hands and a Smartwatch based on the relatively old Snapdragon Wear 2100. The digital functions are implemented via the Google Wear OS operating system. If the 240 mAh battery is empty, the mechanical clock can continue to display the time for several days. If the Smartwatch functions are deactivated, the LG Watch W7 can be used for up to 100 days at a time. When using all smart functions, the battery life is two days.
The stainless steel housing is relatively large with dimensions of 44.5 x 45.4 x 12.9 mm. The weight is 79.5 g. The mechanics are purchased from the Swiss company Soprod AG. The 1.2-inch display offers a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. The Smartwatch also has 768 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory.
To protect the components, the watch is protected against dust and water in accordance with IP68 standard. Communication is via Bluetooth 4.2 and WLAN 802.11 b/g/n.
