MWC 2022: Honor Watch GS3 and Honor Earbuds 3 Pro unveiled

Besides the new smartphones of the Magic4 series, Honor also presented two other devices. The Honor Watch GS3 is a new smartwatch, while the Honor Earbuds 3 Pro in-ear headphones feature exciting innovations.

Honor Watch GS3

The manufacturer has unveiled a new wearable in the form of the classy smartwatch Honor Watch GS3. With its stylish design inspired by traditional mechanical watches and the use of high-quality materials such as 316L stainless steel, as well as a weight of only 44 g, the 10.5 mm smartwatch offers particularly high wearing comfort and a chic design.

In terms of the panel, the GS3 relies on an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 1.43 inches and a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. It is also water-resistant up to 5 ATM and connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0. Honor mentions a speaker as well as a microphone for voice control as further features in the short presentation.

The smartwatch detects optical signals precisely via a new eight-channel PPG sensor module. Along with the AI-assisted heart-rate monitoring engine, which combines multiple algorithms for better frequency detection during exercise, the Watch GS 3 greatly improves the accuracy of the heart-rate monitoring function.

Over 100 training modes are supported, while precise route tracking is promised for all outdoor activities thanks to integrated L1/L5 Dual Frequency GNSS. Six different workouts, such as jogging, are automatically recognized and recorded by the Honor Watch GS3. In addition, the wearable offers 12 animated fitness courses, as well as 44 animated demonstrations of fitness exercises. When it comes to straps, there are nappa leather (Ocean Blue and Classic Gold models), as well as silicone (Midnight Black model) to choose from.

Honor Earbuds 3 Pro with improved features

The Honor Earbuds 3 Pro TWS in-ear headphones also turn out exciting. The wireless stereo earbuds feature a dual-driver design that includes an 11mm diameter dynamic driver and a high-resolution piezoelectric ceramic tweeter that delivers the finest sound detail and rich bass. At the presentation, the manufacturer expressed more than conviction about the audio quality realized with it.

In addition, the Earbuds 3 Pro rely on adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) to muffle distracting ambient noise. With a reduction of up to 46 dB, it should be possible to block out the surroundings pretty well. Disturbing ambient noise like wind is additionally filtered out, which should also improve intelligibility during phone calls.

Another innovation of the Honor Earbuds 3 Pro is the world’s first temperature measurement in in-ear headphones. Here, the wearer’s body temperature can be measured with a precision of +/- 0.3 degrees Celsius.

The Earbuds are operated via touch-sensitive surfaces. The battery life is said to be around four hours with the ANC function activated, or six hours without ANC. The charging case can optionally be charged via USB-C or wirelessly.

Prices and availability

When the Honor Watch GS3 and the Honor Earbuds 3 Pro will be available in Germany is currently unclear. At least the prices are already fixed. The smartwatch starts at 229.00 Euros, while the Earbuds are offered for 199.00 Euros.
