Dell MS700: Bluetooth mouse with rotating mechanism presented

With the Dell MS700, the manufacturer has introduced a very special mouse. The Bluetooth rodent has a rotating mechanism so that the rear half can simply be flipped over for a particularly space-saving transport.

The Dell MS700 in detail

Weighing just 56.9 grams, the Dell MS700 mouse can be connected via Bluetooth to a total of three devices simultaneously, such as PC, notebook, tablet and more. You can switch back and forth between the connected devices by pressing a button on the bottom, and there is also a matching LED indicator.

The special feature, however, is the rotating mechanism. This not only allows the mouse to be transported even more compactly, the rodent is also switched on or off by turning it. Two standard AAA batteries are used, with which the Dell MS700 is supposed to realize a runtime of up to 24 months.

As an office mouse, it then wants to take on Logitech’s MX series, for example. Here, for example, the MX Vertical (our review) or the particularly high-quality MX Master 3S (our review) are at home.

As if from a single mold

The Dell MS700 also does without classic keys, and the entire body looks like it was cast from a single mold. Nevertheless, the front area on the left and right is clickable. The invisible keys are supposed to be particularly quiet here.

There isn’t just a classic scroll wheel between the primary keys either. Dell relies on a touch scroll bar that works the same way, but only protrudes minimally over the case and is supposed to work precisely.

Below the scroll bar, the manufacturer installs another status LED, which informs about the battery life. The sensor reaches a resolution of 4,000 dpi and can be adjusted via the manufacturer’s Peripheral Manager software.

Price and Availability

Initially, the innovative Dell MS700 will launch exclusively in the US. There, it will be offered at an MSRP of $64.99 directly from the manufacturer’s shop. However, other regions are supposed to follow in the course of time, so it is quite likely that the MS700 will come to Germany.
