Lian Li 2022 Digital Expo 2.0: The most important innovations

After the first in-house trade show in February this year, where they presented the Lancool III PC case among other things, the Lian Li 2022 Digital Expo 2.0 now took place. Again, the manufacturer showed in Taipei, Taiwan some exciting innovations and prototypes such as the Lancool 216 or the new fans UNI FAN SL120/140 V2, AL120 V2 and AL140. In total, they presented new prototypes of 3 cases, 4 fans and an AIO water cooling system.

Lancool 216

The Lancool 216 is a mid-tower with excellent cooling that can be configured for air or AIO water cooling. The rotating I/O partition allows you to activate Elevated Motherboard or Air Cooling mode, so the motherboard can be installed offset upwards.

This gives you extra space for vertically mounted graphics cards and larger CPU tower coolers. By rotating the I/O separators 180 degrees, the motherboard can be installed offset downward or in All-In-One liquid cooling mode. This allows thicker heatsinks and radiators up to a maximum of 360mm to be used.

To maximize airflow and exhaust, an external 120mm mount can be used for the rear fan under the GPU I/O ports. While the top offers a cover plate that allows you to easily close any openings you don’t need.

DAN Cases A3 m-ATX

The second prototype at the Lian Li 2022 Digital Expo 2.0 was the DAN Cases A3 m-ATX, which they developed together with manufacturer DAN Cases. It offers a volume of just under 20 liters and is correspondingly compact. Nevertheless, AIO water coolers up to a maximum of 360 mm can be used.

The case offers a reversible frame that allows you to choose between left and right orientation. Depending on your configuration, the A3 can accommodate m-ATX SFX and ATX power supplies, 4-slot GPUs up to 380mm in length (horizontally or vertically), an AIO watercooler up to max 360 or a 158mm CPU cooler and two 2.5-inch SSDs.

The case is made of sturdy, 1.5mm thick solid aluminum and relies on a 1.2mm thick steel frame. ARGB lighting can also be found on the bottom panel, which wraps the area underneath the computer in color. Optionally, the side mesh panels can be replaced with tempered glass panels.

O11D EVO XL

The third case prototype in the bunch is the O11D EVO XL, which builds on the O11D EVO. Features include a reversible design, multiple mounting points for I/O modules, and support for an upright installed GPU.

The O11D EVO XL has a modular back panel with pull-out motherboard drawer that combines I/O separation and expansion slot. This eliminates the need to relocate the motherboard spacers when moving it further up or down.

There are a total of three tray positions to choose from, giving you more options for custom water cooling builds. And that’s with E-ATX support at the same time. With the extra space, the O11D EVO XL offers options for extreme cooling and hardware configurations with support for radiators up to 3 x 420 mm. You can also easily remove the front left frame rail for an unobstructed view of the system.

UNI FAN SL120/140 V2, AL120 V2 and AL140

Lian Li 2022 Digital Expo 2.0 also had a few innovations in store for the air cooler segment. The new UNI FAN SL and AL fans will be available in 120 mm and 140 mm fan sizes. With a thicker 28mm frame, the SL120 V2 and AL120 V2 provide better thermal performance with increased airflow, static pressure and lower noise levels at similar or even higher speeds than the original version.

Also updated is the RGB lighting of the Lian Li UNI FAN SL120/140 V2, which is said to offer smoother transitions along the edges and diffuser. The gap between the diffuser has also been reduced when locked, shrinking from 2.8mm to just 1.5mm.

UNI FAN AL120 V2 and AL140 keep the same aluminum look on the front and back with four narrow arcs around the fan edge, but now feature narrow RGB lines on each corner of the fan side along the aluminum strip.

UNI FAN P28 SILENT & PERFORMANCE EDITIONS

The UNI FAN P28 has been updated with two new models. A silent edition and a performance edition. The P28 Silent is a 120mm PWM fan with speeds up to 1900rpm and noise levels up to 27.5 dBA. It offers an air pressure of 3.04 mm H2O and an airflow of 59.97 cubic feet per minute.

The P28 Performance, on the other hand, is a 120mm PWM fan with speeds up to 2300rpm, a noise level of 33dBA max, 3.86mm H2O and 71.27 cubic feet per minute. With higher speeds and at static pressure, the P28 Performance is optimized for heatsinks.

New AIO water-cooling prototype from Lian Li

The all-in-one liquid cooling prototype is a 100 percent in-house design developed from scratch by the manufacturer. The new 360-AIO water cooling system features a 32mm thick and 130mm wide heatsink and is combined with performance-optimized 28mm thick fans for exceptional thermal performance.

The unique design of the pump block allows for a high level of customization with several accessories included, so you can completely change the lighting style of the pump block. From simple diffused RGB lighting to more conservative cover plates or different levels of infinite mirrors and infinite dot patterns.
