LIAN LI Uni Fan SL120 V2 and SL140 V2: Fans with improvements

LIAN LI reissues its popular fan. The LIAN LI Uni Fan SL120 V2 and SL140 V2 models offer numerous improvements and require fewer cables.

The original Uni Fan SL140 took home the Platinum Award in our review in 2021. Now the manufacturer is reissuing it, just like the 120mm model. The LIAN LI Uni Fan SL120 V2 and SL140 V2 come in black or white color.

A new feature is the possibility to connect up to two clusters with a single hub connection via daisy-chain. With a 28mm thick frame, the DL120 V2 improves airflow performance by an additional 10 percent over the V1, while now requiring a single power module cable – so LIAN LI is declaring war on cable clutter.

Thus, thanks to a new jumper cable included in the three-pack, the fan can use daisy-chain to connect up to 6 fans in 2 clusters with a single hub connector. The new daisy-chain solution reduces the number of cables needed to power two clusters and enables new continuous lighting effects between the two bridged clusters.

They are connected to the controller via a single narrow cable that combines PWM and ARGB signal power. The same cable features a redesigned connector on the fan frame, with the header located inside the fan to create a seamless, flexible connection for the best possible aesthetics-.

Improved performance

LIAN LI Uni Fan SL120 V2 also now comes with a thicker 28mm frame. This increases airflow performance by 10 percent compared to its predecessor. With speeds starting at 0 and ranging from 250 to 2000 rpm, the SL V2 can achieve a static pressure of 2.59 mmH2O and an airflow of 64.5 CFM with a low noise level of 29.2 dBA maximum.

For the SL140 V2, speeds starting at 0 and ranging from 250 to 1600 rpm are possible with a static pressure of 2.09 mmH2O, an airflow of 77.6 CFM and a noise level of 29 dBA maximum.

Four lighting effects are also new in L-Connect 3. Clusters can also be configured directly on the settings page. Here you can, for example, select the number of bridged fans, rename the clusters and rearrange the order of the newly combined lighting effects for a uniform look in the computer case.

Additionally, the fan curve graph on the Fan/Pump Profile page has been changed, allowing real-time speed values to be set instead of percentage for a more intuitive fan speed profile.

The new LIAN LI Uni Fan SL120 V2 and SL140 V2 can be pre-ordered now. Starting at an MSRP of $26.99 for the 120mm model, the 140mm fan comes in at $29.99.
