But what’s behind the name “Lude Cat”?

LudeCat is a video game tournament where players form teams and compete against each other in various, previously unknown games – all while comfortably sitting on a couch on stage. What sets it apart is that no prior knowledge is required, not even gaming experience. This makes LudeCat an event that appeals to people of all ages and is both a tournament and a party at the same time. The focus is clearly on the fun of playing.

The idea for LudeCat originated in 2016 at FH Salzburg, and since then, approximately 8 to 10 events are held annually. These events are not only hosted in Salzburg but also go on tour in Germany as part of NERDIC in Town or participate in exhibitions like CAGGTUS Leipzig, IFA Berlin, or GG Bavaria. Particularly at exhibitions, it manages to reach and motivate hundreds of people to join in the games while many more enthusiastically watch, cheer, and applaud!

Who, how, and where can one participate in LudeCat?

Up to 32 teams compete against each other at LudeCat in various, previously unknown video games. The audience follows the action with excitement and cheers for the players. The couch on stage becomes the emotional center of the competition. Professional moderation and live commentary provide entertainment and deep insights, and the event is also streamed live. Each event draws around 250 to 300 people on-site, while several thousand people follow the proceedings via the stream or through streamers. At the upcoming 15th edition on October 6th, the audience can expect a Best-Of Line-Up from previous years as well as exciting new discoveries made during our tour events in Germany!
