Metz E-Pulsr Cardio: e-bike with pulse rate control is coming

With the 20-inch city cardio e-bike Metz E-Pulsr Cardio, the company has presented an interesting and compact bike that comes with an innovative pulse rate control. Over a predefined pulse range, the load for the circulation should thus always remain the same.

Metz E-Pulsr Cardio in detail

The compact and at the same time robust city bike Metz E-Pulsr Cardio comes on 20-inch wheels and is characterized at the same time by a high total load of 180 kg. The e-bike is equipped with the specially developed Metz G8 mid-motor in conjunction with the fully automatic Enviolo gearshift.

The special feature of the bike, however, is the control option via a predefined pulse range. Before the start of the ride, you specify the heart rate range in which you want to ride. Thanks to variable pedal assistance, the range is not exceeded and the load on the circulation remains constant. Regardless of the incline, distance or duration of the ride.

Pulse rate measurement in Cardio mode

Pulse rate control is activated in the Metz E-Pulsr Cardio’s Cardio mode by using a chest strap or wrist band including pulse rate measurement and pairing it with the e-bike via Bluetooth.

The desired pulse rate, which should not be exceeded while riding, is then specified in the menu. The bike then does the rest itself: The strength of the motor support and the respective support mode are regulated by the bike for you. If the pulse rate leaves the specified range, the E-Pulsr emits an acoustic warning.

The automatic control of the stepless transmission ensures that the same preset cadence is always maintained. Without pulse control, the bike behaves like a classic pedelec and offers a choice of a total of four support levels.

The range is said to be around 95 km in eco mode, depending on the rider’s weight and the conditions. Including the battery, the e-bike weighs in at around 30 kg. LED lights (according to StVZO) and reflectors, as well as a height-adjustable handlebar, are also offered. A luggage carrier is also included directly in the scope of delivery.
