Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion: New smartphones unveiled

In addition to the flagship smartphone Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, the manufacturer has presented two other models. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro, which was recently leaked, starts in the upper mid-range, while the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is offered at an attractive price.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro in detail

The specs of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro were no longer a secret. Now the manufacturer has officially unveiled the smartphone, which comes in the colors Black Beauty, Luxe Lavender and Moonlight Pearl. The first two variants feature a back made from vegan faux leather.

The device measures 161.23 mm x 72.4 mm x 8.19 mm and weighs 186 grams. In addition to IP68 certification, the features include a frame made of sandblasted aluminum and a rounded 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels, a brightness of 2,000 nits and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. It is Pantone-validated and should therefore offer particularly accurate colors.

The SoC used is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which Motorola supports with 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 2.2 system memory. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display, and there are also dual stereo speakers, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and NFC.

The battery has a capacity of 4,500 mAh and is charged via USB-C with up to 125 watts. Wireless charging is possible with up to 50 watts.

In terms of cameras, the Edge 50 Pro has a 50 MP main camera with a 1.55-inch sensor (f/1.4), a 12 MP ultra wide-angle camera (f/2.2) and a 10 MP telephoto camera with triple optical zoom (f/2.0). Thanks to its 50 megapixel resolution and autofocus, the front camera promises impressive image quality with an open aperture of f/1.9.

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion in detail

Below this is the affordable Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, which is available in the colors Forest Blue, Marshmallow Blue and Hot Pink. The last two models also feature a back made from vegan leather.

The Fusion is also IP68 water-resistant and measures 161.9 x 73.1 x 7.9 mm with a weight of 174.9 grams. The pOLED display has a screen diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of full HD with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. It has a brightness of 1,600 nits and a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

The battery of the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is even larger at 5,000 mAh, it is charged via cable with 68 watts, but wireless charging is apparently not possible. The processor used here is the Qualcomm Snaodragon 7s Gen 2 with 8 cores and up to 2.4 GHz, which is supported by 8 GB or 12 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB system memory.

In terms of cameras, the model has a 50 MP main camera with f/1.88 and a 13 MP ultra wide-angle camera with f/2.2 and macro mode. The selfie cam has a resolution of 32 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.45.

Prices and availability

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro will be launched shortly at a price starting at 699.99 euros in the 12 GB / 512 GB version. The manufacturer is currently offering Moto Buds worth around 150 euros free of charge with orders.
