Motorola Razr 5G folding smartphone available soon

In 2019, Motorola introduced a new edition of the popular Razr phone as a foldable smartphone and launched in early 2020. Now the Motorola Razr 5G has been announced.

What are the details of the new Motorola Razr 5G?

The first version of the folding smartphone fell on test models due to dents in the display, which were defective after only one day. Hopefully this will be different with the new version. The built-in 6.2-inch POLED display works with a resolution of 876 x 2,142 pixels and the folding mechanism of its predecessor has been retained.

When the Razr is closed, the display remains bent and does not fold. This is more likely to cause dust ingress. The second display is located on the outside and offers a resolution of 600 x 800 pixels at 2.7 inch size. The CPU is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G with 5G support, the main memory is either 6 or 8 GB RAM and the internal flash memory is 256 GB. The flash memory cannot be expanded.

Camera, battery and Co.

The camera was significantly improved with a 48 megapixel main sensor and a 20 megapixel front camera. The user can access the main camera via the outdoor display even when the Motorola Razr 5G is closed.

The battery capacity has been increased to 2,800 milliampere-hours and the battery can be recharged within a short time with Motorola’s TurboPower fast-charging technology. The weight was reduced by 15 grams to 190 grams. In terms of the operating system, Motorola has remained true to the popular Google Android 10 with minimal adjustments. Mobile navigation is available via GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and Galileo. The fast radio standard 5G is supported and makes a mobile Surfen with enormous bandwidth possible.

The Motorola Razr 5G will be available in Germany from September 14th for 1,499 Euro. There is no choice of color, only black is offered.
