Motorola X30 Pro and Razr 2022: New launch date set – Or not?

After the short-term cancellation to the planned launch event of the Motorola X30 Pro and Razr 2022 in the past week, Chen Jin, the general manager of Lenovo Mobile, is much more cautious about the replacement date.

There is no mention of a specific date, at least not in the text. On the social network weibo, Jin at least shows a picture of the outer display of the new Motorola Razr 2022 foldable smartphone. Time and date can be seen on the screen.

Displayed are, in Chinese, August 11 and 02:00. It can therefore be assumed that the launch event of the Motorola X30 Pro and Razr 2022 will be held at this time.

So now they are lining up behind Samsung after all. For their part, the South Koreans will present the new Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 foldable smartphones to the public a day earlier, on August 10. Why Motorola had to cancel the launch date on such short notice is still unknown.

JD.com confirms the date

Confirming the new launch date is the online store JD. com, where the two smartphones can currently already be pre-ordered – and without any technical details or pictures.

This pre-order period also ends on August 11, which coincides with the possible launch event. After that, the regular sales of Motorola’s X30 Pro and Razr 2022 are supposed to start.

The X30 Pro could enter the stage here as Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and is supposed to be the company’s new top model. Features include a 6.74-inch P-OLED display with 144 Hz, Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and a 200-megapixel main camera complete with Samsung Isocell HP1 sensor.

The Motorola Razr 2022 foldable smartphone is supposed to present itself with similar features, relying on a 6.7-inch P-OLED display with 120 Hz. However, we will really get concrete details in a few days this time.

If the launch date proves to be true, smartphone and especially foldable fans can look forward to several exciting new launches in the coming week, which will herald the hot smartphone fall. Even before Apple or Google, for example, present their new devices in the coming months.
