Just in time for the IFA 2019 currently taking place in Berlin, Razer presented three revised models of the Razer Blade Stealth 13, which was updated at the beginning of the year. The 13-inch devices in Ultrabook format combine high gaming performance and mobility and, depending on the configuration, offer a current Intel Core i7 of the Ice Lake generation and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. This is currently the only 13-inch Ultrabook with the fast Nvidia graphics card.
The 1,679 Euro expensive entry-level model Razer Blade Stealth 13 “Mercury White” is based on an Intel Core i7 1065G7 (4 cores, 8 threads) with 1.3 GHz base clock and a maximum turbo clock of 3.9 GHz. The 13.3-inch display has a Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), but unfortunately offers only 60 Hz. The integrated Intel Iris Plus is used as the graphics card, whose performance is still sufficient for casual gamers without big demands. The NVMe SSD offers a capacity of 256 GB, the RAM is 16 GB. According to Razer, the 53.1 Wh battery should provide a battery life of up to 10 hours.
The 1,999 Euro “GTX Model I“, which has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 with 4 GB graphics memory instead of the integrated graphics card, offers significantly more performance. In addition, the SSD with 512 GB capacity offers twice as much space as the entry-level model. All other components are identical to the Mercury White model.
The best equipment of the new Razer Blade Stealth 13 models is the “GTX Model II“, which goes over the counter for 2.199 Euro. In comparison to the GTX model I, the laptop differs only in the better display, which allows 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) and touch inputs instead of Full HD. Unfortunately, even the more expensive panel only has 60 Hz.
Razer hasn’t yet mentioned the battery life details for the two GTX models, but due to the power-hungry graphics card and the identical battery to the Mercury White model, usage times of significantly less than 10 hours are to be expected.
High mobility despite good performance
Compared to other gaming notebooks, which often weigh well over 2 kg, the Razer Blade Stealth 13 models are true lightweights, weighing only 1.36 kg (Mercury White), 1.42 kg (GTX Model I) and 1.48 kg (GTX Model II) each including battery. The case also remains pleasantly compact despite the powerful hardware and is only 0.5 mm thicker than its predecessor, which is barely noticeable.
External hardware can be connected to the notebooks via two USB type A (3.0), one USB type C (3.1 Gen2) and one Thunderbolt 3 port. There is also a combo audio port for headsets. WLAN is implemented via the Intel Wireless-AX 201 chip, which supports the 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards.
All equipment variants also have a 720p webcam, an illuminated keyboard with Razer Chrome RGBs and a touchpad with glass cover.
All three models will be available from the end of September for customers in the U.S.A. and Canada via Razer Onlineshop. Shortly thereafter, German customers will also be able to order the Gaming Ultrabooks. Razer has not yet published when the devices will be available in Switzerland and Austria.
