Patriot Memory: Viper Xtreme 5 introduced
At Computex 2023, which has just ended, Patriot Memory has unveiled a whole bunch of new products. The Viper Xtreme 5 memory was already unveiled at CES 2023 and has now been shown once again in its very final form.
The DDR5 flagship RAM is said to deliver particularly fast performance and reaches speeds of up to 8,000 MT/s. It features RGB lighting and relies on an aluminum heat shield that is supposed to keep waste heat in check and thus maintain the performance even under permanent load. Intel XMP 3.0 is already supported, the CAS latencies are 38-48-48-84.
In addition, the lighting can be synchronized with popular systems from Gigabyte, ASRock, MSI or ASUS or coupled with the exclusive Viper RGB Sync.
Viper PV553 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen5 x4 SSD
The Viper PV553 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen5 x4 SSD is similarly racy, representing Patriot Memory’s first PCIe Gen5 x4 SSD. It achieves sequential read speeds of up to 12,400 MB/s and write speeds of up to 11,800 MB/s, which puts it in the pocket of a Teamgroup Invincible T-FORCE CARDEA Z540, for example.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not reveal many details. However, the picture shows that the SSD is actively cooled.
Pricing and Availability
The Viper Xtreme 5 memory is already available in stores. They are offered as a 32 GB kit at a recommended retail price of €309.00. Additional details are provided by the official product website of the manufacturer. The release date of the Viper PV553 will be announced after Computex 2023.
