Philips 40B1U5600 and 40B1U5601H in detail

The two professional monitors Philips 40B1U5600 and 40B1U5601H are characterized by a large screen diagonal of 40 inches, or 100.4 centimeters, and come with an UltraWide CrystalClear resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels. They rely on an IPS panel with LED backlighting, which in the case of the 40B1U5600 is certified according to VESA DisplayHDR 400 and gets 500 cd/m² bright. The Philips 40B1U5601H, on the other hand, comes in at a brightness of 300 cd/m².

The contrast ratio is a very good 1,200:1 for IPS panels, while a SmartContrast of 50,000:1 is also offered. Both monitors cover 121 percent of the sRGB color space and 102 percent of the NTSC color space. In addition, both displays offer a color accuracy of Delta E <2 and an eye-friendly LowBlue mode.

Convincing connectivity

Both the Philips 40B1U5600 and Philips 40B1U5601H are equipped with USB Type-C ports including power delivery, allowing connection via a single cable. PowerDelivery via USB-C offers a charging speed of up to 100 watts.

The 40B1U5601H also offers the possibility to access the Internet directly via RJ45 LAN on the monitor, while the DisplayPort output allows linking multiple displays with only one cable (daisy chain).

In addition to one HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.4, one (40B1U5600) or two USB-C (40B1U5601H), the monitors have a 3.5 mm jack, a USB hub with USB 3.2 Gen 1 / 5 Gbit/s, 1 x USB-C upstream (data), 4 x USB-A downstream (1 x for fast charging BC 1.2), 1 x USB-C downstream (data, PD 15 W) and two integrated 5 watt speakers.

With an integrated KVM switch, you’ll also be able to share your peripherals with multiple endpoints on both displays without having to reposition them. The 40B1U5601H also offers the added benefit of an integrated 5MP webcam with Windows Hello face recognition and noise-canceling microphone, for clear, secure communication when working from home or collaborating remotely.

Both Philips monitors also offer sustainable features such as the energy-saving PowerSensor, which automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to the presence or absence of the user. Energy consumption can thus be reduced by up to 75 percent. The monitors can also be tilted, rotated and adjusted in height. A VESA mount for mounting on monitor arms or on a wall is also possible.

Prices and Availability

The Philips 40B1U5600 is available in stores now at an MSRP of $809.00. The Philips 40B1U5601H will follow in mid-January 2023 at a price of 909.00 euros. More details are provided by the official websites of 40B1U5600 and 40B1U5601H.
