Philips is expanding its gaming division Evnia, which was launched at the end of 2022, with a new ultrawide monitor. The Philips Evnia 49M2C8900L has a screen diagonal of 49 inches (124.3 cm) and comes in a 32:9 superwide format.

It offers a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 0.03 ms when switching from gray to gray. The monitor uses a QD OLED panel that comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and promises a colorful, sharp and smooth display thanks to VESA ClearMR 8000.

The display is slightly curved and has an 1800R curvature. The DCI-P3 factory space is covered 99 percent, while the color fidelity of DeltaE 2 also makes the display interesting for color-critical work.

Ambiglow and connectivity

The latest model in the Evnia 8000 series also offers Ambiglow backlighting. The DTS sound function of the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900L improves the sound thanks to four 7.5 watt speakers.
