Philips Launches Monitor 241B7QGJEB

Philips introduces the 241B7QGJEB, an environmentally friendly, energy efficient monitor. The manufacturer prides itself on having combined environmental friendliness with performance. According to the manufacturer, this is made possible above all by new sensors.

The main purpose of these new sensors is to drastically reduce energy consumption when the screen is not in use. The so-called power sensor transmits an infrared signal for this purpose, with the help of which it is to be recognized whether the user of the screen is present and is actually using the device. If this is not the case, the brightness of the monitor is significantly reduced, saving energy. Philips speaks of energy cost savings of up to 80 percent. At the same time, the service life of the screen is to be increased in this way.

In addition, a light sensor is used to determine the lighting conditions in the room and automatically adjust the brightness of the screen to them. In this way, too, the manufacturer wants to achieve a reduction in energy consumption.

The screen measures 24 inches diagonally and is equipped with the TCO Edge certificate. This certificate certifies the environmental friendliness of the device. The certification reveals that the screen is made of at least 85 percent recycled plastic, is energy efficient, contains low levels of environmentally harmful materials, and comes in a package that is 100 percent recyclable.

The device also wants to convince on a technical level. Thanks to the IPS technology used, the screen has a quite high viewing angle stability and can convince with sharp details and good color quality. Movies, videos, photos and games will in all probability be sharp and detailed. The unit is also suitable for multi-display setups.

It also features flicker-free technology, 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution, 93 PPI pixel density, full sRGB coverage and LowBlue mode. The screen can be connected via VGA, DVI-D, DisplayPort, HDMI and USB 3.0. An audio input and a corresponding output are also available.
