The Chinese electric car startup NIO together with Razer has presented a limited special version of their seven-seater SUV, which was specially designed for the demands of gamers. The Razer keyboards, headsets and mice chroma lighting has been integrated into the SUV. The NIO X Razer ES6 Night Explorer is only the first vehicle of the cooperation, which will be followed by further models with RGB ambient lighting.
The basis is the NIO ES6 Performance Edition. In addition to the additional lighting elements, the special edition also features Razer’s typical exterior design, which has been enhanced with green logos and decorative trim. With an output of 544 hp, the large SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. Depending on the equipment and driving style, the range is between 400 and a maximum of 510 kilometres.
In addition to Razer Chroma lighting, the car also features Razer THX Spatial Audio Sound technology. According to a company press release, the interior also features special design elements, but photos of them have not yet been published.
Other models with Razer Chroma lighting
In addition to the already introduced ES6 Night Explorer Limited Edition, special models of the NIO entry-level model ES6 and the super sports car ES9 as well as the ES8 will soon follow, which will also have ambient lighting based on Razer Chroma.
Since altogether only 88 models of the ES6 Night Explorer Limited Edition will come on the market, the sale is limited to China. In the basic configuration, the car costs 487,800 yuan (around 63,300 euros). Whether later also vehicles, which the unusual firm co-operation brings out are to be offered also in other regions, were not commented so far.
