Razer releases new Kiyo X webcam and Ripsaw X capture card

Peripheral manufacturer Razer continues to expand its lineup of content creator devices. The Kiyo X USB is a new edition of the popular webcam, while the Razer Ripsaw X is a new capture card with a compact form factor.

Kiyo X: New webcam with up to 60 FPS

The new Razer Kiyo X positions itself technically between the already available Kiyo and Kiyo Pro models. Here, there is the option of recording in Full HD resolution at 30 frames per second or in 720p at up to 60 FPS. The camera’s image quality can be completely adjusted in real time using the Razer Synapse software.

On the software side, you can switch between intelligent autofocus or manual focus, as well as between different image presets. In addition, brightness, contrast, color intensity and white balance can be fine-tuned in real time. The Kiyo X comes with a flexible mount that allows it to be attached to a monitor or notebook, as well as on a table. In addition, the base can be removed to mount the webcam on a tripod.

Thanks to plug and play connectivity, the Razer Kiyo X, which is connected via USB, is ready to use out of the box. In addition, the webcam is compatible with the Razer Virtual Ring Light software. This allows the notebook’s screen to be used as a light source. Here, the manufacturer promises studio-quality lighting.

Ripsaw X: Compact capture card, also for on the go

With the Razer Ripsaw X, the manufacturer offers a new capture card that can record game content from PC and current consoles. Here, a maximum of 4K resolution including 30 FPS is achieved. Thanks to HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0 connectivity, there is almost no delay while the image can be recorded with the maximum details.

Recordings can be saved directly to the hard drive, alternatively the Razer Ripsaw X allows live streaming and is fully compatible with popular software solutions like Open Broadcaster Software and Streamlabs. Again, once connected, the device is ready to use out of the box and can also be easily connected to various devices such as cameras from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Fujifilm and GoPro.

Pricing and Availability

The Kiyo X Webcam and Ripsaw X Capture Card are available for order now from Razer.com. Amazon already lists the Webcam and Capture Card as well. The MSRP is 89.99 euros for the Kiyo X, and 139.99 euros for the Ripsaw X, respectively. The Razer Virtual Ring Light software will be available for download in October 2021.
