Reolink Duo Floodlight 4K: Dual camera with 180 degree field of view and floodlight

With the new Reolink Duo Floodlight 4K security cameras, you’re guaranteed to have everything in view. It combines two lenses to cover a 180-degree field of view in sharp 4K resolution with a 2,000-lumen bright floodlight.

The Reolink Duo Floodlight 4K in detail

We have already taken a look at surveillance cameras from the manufacturer Reolink several times in reviews and were usually very satisfied, as in the case of the Reolink Argus Pro, for example. Now the manufacturer has introduced the Reolink Duo Floodlight 4K, an exciting outdoor surveillance camera.

It uses a dual-lens system, so relies on two cameras, which thus cover a total field of view of 180 degrees. And it does so in sharp 4K UHD resolution, so you can see every detail. The model is offered either as a PoE or Wi-Fi variant, but apart from the connection, nothing changes in the equipment.

The Reolink Duo Floodlight 4K relies on 1/1.27″ CMOS sensors with a native resolution of 4,608 x 1,728 pixels (8 megapixels) and records video at a maximum of 20 frames per second. Lenses rely on wide-angle cameras with an aperture of f/2.0 and a vertical field of view of 180 degrees (horizontal 60 degrees).

Weatherproof design and with bright floodlight

The Reolink Duo Floodlight 4K is also protected against rain and dirt according to IP66. A new feature here is the eponymous floodlight, which achieves a brightness of up to 2,000 lumens via LED. People, pets or vehicles in the viewing area are automatically detected and illuminated as soon as they approach.

In addition, routines can be created for the lighting, so that the floodlight comes on automatically when you come home from work, for example, or when you set off early in the morning. In addition, the security cameras have a color night vision mode, as well as an infrator night vision mode with a range of up to 30 meters.

Of course, there are differences in the connection for Internet and power. The PoE model uses an Ethernet cable via Power over Ethernet, while the Wi-Fi version operates wirelessly in the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands and is supplied with power via a conventional power adapter.

Both variants can also be equipped with a microSD card to record videos. Here, however, a maximum of 256 GB of capacity is supported. They also have an integrated microphone and speaker to enable two-way communication.

Control is possible via the corresponding Reolink app, and the Duo Floodlight 4K Hey also supports Google and Amazon Alexa.

Prices and Availability

The Reolink Duo Floodlight 4K is now available for pre-order directly from the manufacturer with a steep introductory discount. The PoE model has an MSRP of $214.99, but is currently on sale for just $193.49.

The Reolink Duo Floodlight 4K WiFi has a recommended retail price of €219.99 and is currently on sale for €197.99. Delivery is scheduled for the end of December 2022.
