Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and A54 5G officially announced

Samsung has announced its new A series for 2023. These are the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and the A54 5G. Both smartphones should not only score with an attractive price-performance ratio. Samsung also wants to improve the cameras.

Samsung promises better picture quality

It’s almost a bit ironic that Samsung is focusing on the revised camera technology of the A34 5G and A54 5G, of all things. After all, the South Korean tech company wrote negative headlines just a few days ago, as it became known that the moon photos taken with the Galaxy S23 Ultra were fakes. The “moon shots” that were advertised in the run-up are not taken by the smartphone camera itself, but by an artificial intelligence. However, since the A-series is the manufacturer’s entry-level device, they are a bit more modest than with the flagships. For example, Samsung wants to enable better pictures in low-light conditions. This is made possible by a triple camera in both models. The A54 5G scores with a slightly higher resolution. Once again, AI support is supposed to ensure good pictures. The optical image stabilizer is supposed to ensure smooth motion pictures.

Super AMOLED display with 120 Hz

The other technical equipment is also supposed to be completely sufficient for people who do not have too extensive demands on their smartphone. The display is even on par with some flagships in the industry in view of the proven Super AMOLED panels in both devices and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. An FHD+ resolution should provide sufficiently sharp pictures. The most significant difference between the A34 5G and A54 5G is the screen size. While the display of the A54 measures 6.4 inches, you get 6.6 inches on the A34. The so-called Vision Booster is supposed to ensure that the picture brightness automatically adjusts to the respective lighting conditions.

The heart of both devices is an octa-core processor. It is supported by up to 8 GB of RAM. The 5,000 mAh battery is supposed to provide good endurance in both devices. While the A34 5G is presumably powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900, the A54 5G is probably powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1380. The internal storage is up to 256 GB. If that is not enough, you can expand it up to 1 TB via microSD card. Both devices also sound promising in terms of durability. There is talk that the next four generations of the operating system are guaranteed to be made available as a download. Samsung wants to offer security updates for five years.

Prices and availability

The color palette turns out pleasingly varied. Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and A54 5G come in Awesome Lime, Awesome Graphite and Awesome Violet colors. While Awesome White is only exclusive to the Galaxy A54 5G, the A34 5G gets Awesome Silver as an exclusive color. You can buy both devices from the end of March. For the Galaxy A34 5G, you have to pay 389.00 Euros for the basic version with 6 GB RAM and a storage of 128 GB. The version with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB, on the other hand, will cost 459.00 Euros. On the other hand, prices for the Galaxy A54 5G start at 489.00 Euros for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The 256 GB flash storage is then also available for 539.00 Euros.
