Samsung Galaxy Book (Pro): Three new notebooks coming at once

Samsung presented three new notebooks during its Unpacked event, which sound really promising. Besides the Galaxy Book, the Galaxy Book Pro and the Galaxy Book Pro 360 are also to be released. Let’s take a quick look at the amazingly thin soon-to-be new additions to the highly competitive notebook market.

Galaxy Book

The Galaxy Book is Samsung’s new notebook for the average user. When it comes to the display, the South Koreans don’t make any false experiments this time either. Thanks to a 15.6-inch Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), it should be sufficiently sharp. You can choose between three different processor versions.

Samsung equips its Galaxy Book with an Intel Core i3 -1115G4 in the entry-level version. Intel UHD Graphics provides the graphics performance. Alternatively, the notebook is also available with an Intel Core i5 – 1135G7. Intel’s Iris Xe is supposed to provide graphics power here. The strongest processor performance is achieved with the Intel Core i7 – 1165G7. Intel Iris Xe is supposed to make graphically complex tasks no problem here, either. Samsung relies on diversity for the ports. Besides 2x classic USB-A ports (3.2 Gen1), there are 2x USB-C and 1x HDMI 1.4. The features are rounded off by 1x microSD, 1x 3.5 mm jack and 1x Kensington slot. The battery has a capacity of 54 Wh.

The entry-level price of the Samsung Galaxy Book is 679.00 Euros. For this, you get 8 GB of RAM as well as 256 GB of flash storage in addition to the Intel Core i3. The top version comes with an Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB flash storage and is supposed to have an RRP of 1,149 Euros. The top features will also be available with or without an LTE module. The internal storage of all models can easily be expanded by up to 1 TB via micro-SD. The slim notebook should be available in stores from May 14.

Galaxy Book Pro

With a screen diagonal of 13.3 inches or 15.6 inches, but significantly more power than the Galaxy Book, the Galaxy Book Pro comes along. This already starts with the display quality. Samsung flexes its muscles here and gives the device an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). You can choose between three different CPU features. In the entry-level version you get an Intel Core i5 – 1135G7.

The slightly better equipment line offers an Intel Core i7, but only a screen diagonal of 13.3 inches. Samsung wants to shine with an Intel Core i7 – 1165G7 in the top configuration. Again, you have the choice between 13.3 inches or 15.6 inches. The graphics performance does not differ in the first two features. Samsung relies on Intel Iris Xe here. The Galaxy Book Pro gets a bit more GPU power in the most powerful variant thanks to Intel Iris Xe and additional Nvidia GeForce MX450. The internal storage of all models can easily be expanded by up to 2 TB via microSD. The battery capacity is 63 Wh for the 13-inch model and 68 Wh for the 15-inch model.

In terms of ports, the Pro model comes with 1x USB-A (3.2 Gen1), 1x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4), 1x USB-C (3.2 Gen1), 1x HDMI 1.4, 1x microSD and 1x 3.5 jack. The 13.3-inch LTE model also has an additional SIM card slot. The prices of the Galaxy Book Pro are supposed to start at 1,099 Euros. For this, you get 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of flash storage and a screen diagonal of 13.3 inches in addition to the Intel Core i5. The top model offers 16 GB RAM, 1 TB flash storage and LTE alongside the Intel Core i 7 for an MSRP of 1,799 euro. You can buy the new Galaxy Book Pro in stores from May 14.

Galaxy Book Pro 360

The Galaxy Book Pro 360 is probably particularly exciting. Even though you might hardly notice a difference to the classic Pro model at first glance, this one can be used as a practical convertible. Accordingly, Samsung also includes its own S Pen. The display corresponds to the Galaxy Book Pro’s performance. However, the South Koreans do not “only” use AMOLED, but Super AMOLED technology for the panel. You can also choose between 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch screen sizes.

When it comes to CPU performance, you have the choice between an Intel Core i5 – 1135G7 and an Intel Core i7 1165G7. Regardless of the CPU, Samsung always equips the Galaxy Book Pro 360 with an Intel Iris Xe for graphics performance. The Galaxy Book Pro 360’s connectivity is the lowest compared to the other two new models. The convertible has 1x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4), 2x USB-C (3.2 Gen1), 1x microSD and 1x 3.5 mm jack. The internal storage of all models can be easily expanded by up to 2 TB via microSD. The battery capacity is 63 Wh for the 13-inch model and 68 Wh for the 15-inch model.

The MSRP of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 starts at 1,199 euros. For this, you get a 13.3-inch screen diagonal, an Intel Core i5, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage. The screen diagonal increases to 15.6 inches in the top features. On the CPU side, this is equipped with an Intel Core i7, which gets support from 16 GB of RAM. The flash storage includes 512 GB here and the MSRP is 1,599 Euros. The Galaxy Book Pro 360 is scheduled to go on sale on May 14. The LTE version of the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is expected to launch later this year.
