Segway KickScooter GT2: E-Scooter with up to 70 km/h top speed

With a top speed of 70 km/h, the new Segway KickScooter GT2 e-scooter is not approved for use on German roads, but the off-road vehicle is certainly exciting. We have summarized all the info.

Segway KickScooter GT2 with dual-wheel drive to top speed

Segway titles the new KickScooter GT2 as “The ultimate crossover of KickScooters” and claims to have created the fastest e-scooter on the market. No wonder, after all, the performance data of the e-scooter is much more reminiscent of a genuine motor scooter.

In German road traffic, the model with a top speed of 70 km/h may not be moved, as it does not meet the requirements of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO). Accordingly, Segway’s note concludes the presentation: “This product may only be ridden on race tracks and/or private property.”

The Segway KickScooter GT2 relies on tubeless tires with a size of 11 inches, which, thanks to the self-sealing gel layer inside, offer greater safety with a lower risk of punctures and less maintenance. Thanks to a tire width of 92 mm, the tires are said to offer greater load capacity and better stability on any surface, making the GT2 suitable for riding in open terrain.

Catapulting the GT2 to 70 km/h is a powerful two-wheel drive whose power transmission can be adjusted using the mobile app. This allows power to be accessed via one wheel, while distribution to the front and rear wheels is also possible. Even incline angles of up to 30 degrees should not bother the GT2 thanks to 3,000 W of power.

Powerful also in lighting and display

The manufacturer has also spared no expense when it comes to the lighting of the Segway KickScooter GT2, offering tremendous illumination thanks to 9-watt LED front lights and an LED daytime running light. In addition to the lights, the GT2 has certified reflectors in the front, rear and sides so that you can always be seen in low light conditions.

Integrated turn signals front and rear provide better visibility and increased safety on the road – although not in Germany. The transparent PM OLED color display also marks a novelty in the e-scooter segment. It informs, for example, about the speed and remaining range, about which mode is activated (PARK-WALK-ECO-SPORT-RACE or even BOOST mode), as well as about battery level, cruise control and much more.

Off-road e-scooter

At the same time, the GT2 is also supposed to be absolutely suitable for off-road use. This is made possible by a soft suspension front and rear, as well as the adjustable shock absorber, which adapts to different driving conditions.

Here, the choice is between soft damping for more stability and ride comfort at high speeds, and strong damping for more challenging terrain and bumpy roads. In addition, the new Segway KickScooter GT2 features Segway Dynamic Traction Control (SDTC) which is designed to provide more grip on rough roads or difficult terrain.

The GT2 measures 1485 x 656 x 1308 mm when unfolded (1485 x 656 x 860 mm when folded) and weighs 52.6 kg. It is approved for use from 14 years of age and up to a maximum weight of 150 kg. It is IPX4 water-resistant and has a fully charged range of up to 90 kilometers.

The battery capacity is 1512 Wh, and thanks to double charging, a charging process takes around eight hours. Details on the price and availability of the Segway KickScooter GT2 will be announced shortly.
