Sharkoon launches MS-Y1000 and MS-Z1000 cases

Sharkoon has introduced two new Micro-ATX cases. The global provider of high-quality and high-performance PC components and peripherals not only wants to score with a compact design. On top of that, the manufacturer wants to offer freedom of choice between two different front panels. The front of the MS-Y1000 and MS-Z1000, optionally equipped with Z- or Y-shaped cutouts, is supposed to provide a high airflow in combination with four pre-installed fans.

An eye-catcher for any gaming setup

A cool design plays an increasingly important role in PC cases. Sharkoon also seems to have taken this to heart with its two new additions. The front panel, which is made of high-quality steel, is equipped with two different types of cutouts depending on the version. While the MS-Z1000 is Z-shaped, the MS-Y1000 has small Y-shaped cutouts. Thus, they live up to their name. There is not only freedom of choice in the design of the front.

On top of that, you can choose either black or white color for the cases. Sharkoon wants to make sure that the cases fit in perfectly in any environment. The manufacturer also makes sure that the Micro-ATX case can be positioned to the left or right of the monitor. Finally, the two side panels, which are made of tempered glass and mesh respectively, can be exchanged in their position. Long live the modular design.

Four pre-installed fans

To ensure optimal cooling performance, Sharkoon relies on the interaction of the air-permeable front panel and the four pre-installed fans. The manufacturer places two 120 mm diameter PWM fans on the top and another of the same size on the bottom.

The three large fans are complemented by an 80 mm PWM fan which is located in the rear. If the four fans are not enough, you can optionally mount another 120 mm fan at the bottom. So, sufficient airflow should be provided in the MS-Y1000 as well as the MS-Z1000.

Vertical mounting of the GPU is possible

If you want to create a real eye-catcher, you can optionally buy the Compact VGCK. With the help of this mounting kit, it should be possible to install graphics cards up to a length of 27 cm in the two cases. This piece of hardware, which is available separately, is supposed to especially ensure that the GPU’s PCB doesn’t get bent.

But on top of that, this should also fulfill aesthetic aspects. After all, a vertical installation ensures that you should also be able to see RGB effects of a GPU cooler better. Sharkoon also emphasizes the uncomplicated installation of its Compact VGCK. Thus, only three steps should be enough to insert the mounting kit.

A real space miracle

Furthermore, Sharkoon promises plenty of space with its MS-Y1000 and MS-Z1000. This may not seem so at first glance, as both come in a comparatively compact form factor. For example, a power supply of up to 16 cm in length should be able to find room inside.

In order to be able to accommodate this cleverly, Sharkoon relies on a special tunnel, which is located in the upper part of the case. In addition to the power supply tunnel, it should also be possible to mount a radiator with a size of 240 mm. Furthermore, up to three 2.5-inch hard drives can be mounted. Alternatively, space is also available for a classic 3.5-inch hard drive.

Price and availability

Sharkoon’s two latest cases are available now. For the MS-Y1000 and MS-Z1000, the hardware manufacturer charges an MSRP of 79.90 euros in black. Those who prefer white have to add a bit and live with an MSRP of 84.90 Euros. The Compact VGCK required for vertically mounting a GPU is also available for purchase now. Here, Sharkoon charges an MSRP of 34.99 Euros.
