Sonos Pro: Manufacturer launches into business customer segment

Manufacturer Sonos is primarily known for its compelling audio products and recently introduced the two Bluetooth speakers Era 300 and Era 100. Now, it is expanding into the business segment under the name Sonos Pro, offering a flexible software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering for enterprises.

What’s behind Sonos Pro

Initially, only business customers in the U.S. will enjoy the new Sonos Pro software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering, but later the subscription-based model will be made available in other countries.

The aim of the system is to enable companies to manage the manufacturer’s speakers centrally from a dashboard. Licensed music can also be accessed via it. It is also possible to seamlessly combine the service with existing or newly acquired Sonos hardware, for example, to power the entire store or restaurant with the speakers.

Using a Sonos app and new remote management capability, organizations can view and manage activity across multiple locations, including via a web-based dashboard, with Sonos Pro.

For example, it’s possible to create playlists, adjust or distribute admin privileges, and delegate access rights from anywhere in the world. In case of problems, you can fall back on the support of a premium support.

Sonos Pro is designed to help brands easily emphasize their vision and image. Through the service, content can be perfectly curated and unique sound experiences can be created to delight customers,”reveals Audra Kinsley, vice president and general manager, Sonos Professional.

Music service on board

Sonos Pro provides exclusive access to Sonos Backgrounds. This is a commercially licensed music service that offers content from independent artists. “It also provides easy access to third-party streaming services such as Mood Mix, Soundtrack your Brand, or Rockbot,” the statement continues. The goal is to create a consistent brand experience when a company serves multiple locations, for example.

These locations can be individually equipped with the manufacturer’s compact speakers, smart speakers and other audio devices, which can be linked together and centrally controlled.

As one’s business grows, the Sonos Pro subscription can be easily adjusted and expanded with additional speakers. Sonos Pro has already been launched in the US, but the manufacturer has not yet revealed when it will be launched in Germany.
