The two camera smartphones Sony Xperia PRO and PRO-I rely on technology from the Alpha DSLM cameras, which is supposed to provide particularly convincing photos and videos. With a new software update, you can expect expanded video features that offer exciting innovations for content creators in particular.
Sony Xperia PRO and PRO-I software update released
A new update is available for download for the two flagship camera smartphones Sony Xperia PRO and PRO-I. With the update, Sony updates the external monitor feature, which can be activated when the smartphone is connected to a compatible camera via an HDMI (Xperia PRO) or USB-C (Xperia PRO-I) cable.
When you connect the smartphones to a camera accordingly, they function as a 4K OLED monitor. New features now include a waveform display for checking the luminance values and RGB balance.
This should make it possible to achieve even more precise settings and to see incorrect exposure values before shooting and adjust them accordingly.
Share videos directly from your smartphone
If the Sony Xperia PRO and PRO-I smartphones are connected to a Sony Alpha camera, videos can now be shared directly in the highest quality on social networks such as YouTube and Co.
In addition, there is a stamina mode for longer streaming. The Xperia PRO can now also be used as a remote control when you use it with compatible cameras. With the update, it gets a trigger function for recording and stop, which is available when using a USB-C cable.
On the screen, then, you’ll see important information like shutter speed, aperture, ISO and EV readings, and whether a shot is in progress. Software updates for both smartphones are available for download now.
If you’re still looking for the right camera, Sony has just introduced the Alpha 7R V, which comes with a 61-megapixel sensor and some exciting new features. These include a new AI chip, improved autofocus that also works in the dark, and much more.
