SteelSeries Arctis 9: New gaming headset introduced

With the Arctis 9, manufacturer SteelSeries has introduced a new gaming headset. Not only PC owners should enjoy the sound of the newest member of the Arctis Line. Also for PlayStation 4 and the upcoming PlayStation 5 the dual gaming headset should be suitable.

Very low latency

SteelSeries is using 2.4 GHz technology for its upcoming headset. This is intended to achieve the lowest possible latency, which is a decisive advantage especially in multiplayer. In addition, SteelSeries also wants to make sure that you don’t miss anything with the Arctis 9. So the dual gaming headset, like other members of the Arctis family before (Arctis Pro Wireless, Arctis 9X), offers the possibility of a simultaneous Bluetooth connection with several source devices. This allows the Arctis 9 to be connected to both PC and smartphone. This means that you will never miss a call again, no matter how heated the gaming session.

High-quality microphone

Sound and microphone quality are of course essential for a good gaming headset. And here SteelSeries seems to have promising things in the pipeline with the Arctis 9. Not without reason, the microphone of the upcoming headset offers certification for the online service Discord. In particular, SteelSeries uses its own ClearCast Micro. We already know the same from other products of the Arctis series. If the microphone is not needed, it can be conveniently placed in the ear cup. Speaking of ear cups. SteelSeries makes these from a special Airweave fabric. This should not only be comfortable, but also prevent heavy perspiration. The steel-reinforced headphone straps provide sufficient stability. The Arctis 9 is supposed to guarantee a great surround sound. SteelSerie relies on DTS Headphone:X version 2.0. The battery of the Arctis 9 should last for 20 hours of gaming pleasure.

Price and availability

The Arctis 9 from SteelSeries is now available at an RRP of almost 200 euros.
