The Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro, which were officially unveiled in early May, are now available on the market. The smartwatches are technically excellently equipped and start at a price of 449 Euros. The Watch 4 Pro’s case is made of titanium and sapphire glass and is 13 millimeters thick, while the Watch 4 comes in an 11 millimeter thin stainless steel case with normal chemically hardened glass. Both models are submersible up to 30 meters and have an IP68 rating. They feature 1.5-inch OLED displays with a resolution of 455 x 455 pixels and are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 5100.
Health monitoring and connectivity
Huawei’s new smartwatches offer extensive sensor capabilities, including a medically certified ECG, blood oxygen, body temperature and respiration tests. An 8-channel optical heart rate sensor measures heart rate and captures heart health indicators such as arrhythmia, heart rhythm, and pulse patterns. All models in the Watch 4 series are equipped with an eSIM, which means that they can be accessed independently of the smartphone, provided that there is a corresponding contract.
Battery life and pricing
The battery life of the Watch 4, which is equipped with a 530 mAh battery, is stated by Huawei to be up to 3 days, while the Watch 4 Pro is said to last up to 4.5 days with its 780 mAh battery. A special energy-saving mode can extend the runtime up to 21 days. The Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro will be available from the Huawei Online Store on June 13 for €449 and €549 respectively. The Watch 4 Pro with titanium strap costs 699 euros. From June 13 to 27, 2023, all orders via the Online Store will come with the FreeBuds 5i for free, as well as other perks.
